Low back pain during pregnancy

Pregnant women face various physical changes during pregnancy, mainly due to the changes in hormones in the body during pregnancy. The second trimester of pregnancy is a relatively safe period, because the condition has gradually stabilized during this period, and the dangerous period has passed. However, in the second trimester, pregnant women also have to face changes in their bodies. Some pregnant women in the second trimester experience symptoms of lower back pain. What should they do?

1. The changes in hormones in the body after pregnancy, especially the influence of progesterone, cause the pelvic joint ligaments to relax, which causes a slight separation of the pubic symphysis, and the separation leads to joint pain. Most people can tolerate the pain caused by pubic symphysis separation. If the pubic bone is severely dislocated, causing ligament sprain, edema, and difficulty walking, you will have to stay in bed.

2. As the pregnancy progresses, the uterus becomes larger. Because the uterus grows forward, it often forces pregnant women to straighten their bodies, with their head and shoulders backward, their abdomen bulging forward, and their waists also thrust forward. Over time, this can cause back pain.

3. During pregnancy, the ureters are affected and become thicker, the tension decreases, the peristalsis weakens, the urine flow slows down, and sometimes causes infection. In the second half of pregnancy, the renal pelvis and ureter will expand, which may easily compress the right ureter and right nerves, causing chronic pyelonephritis, which in turn causes pain in the lower back.

4. Due to the special physiological cycle and physiological structure of female friends, gynecological diseases are also common, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis and other diseases, which can also cause symptoms of low back pain.

5. Waist fatigue caused by excessive fatigue is also called exertional low back pain. If you do some strenuous work or stay in one posture for a long time, it can easily lead to lumbar strain. The main symptom is low back pain.
