How many days of pregnancy does it take to see the embryo?

Pregnancy is something that can only be accomplished through cooperation between husband and wife. First of all, there must be healthy sperm and mature eggs, so that there can be a good fertilized egg. A woman's pregnancy begins only after the fertilized egg implants. As time goes by, the fertilized egg begins to change and slowly splits into various organs. How many days of pregnancy does it take to see the embryo bud? Usually, the embryo bud can be seen through medical equipment after more than one month of pregnancy.

1. How many days after pregnancy does it take for the embryo to appear?

Through transvaginal ultrasound examination, the doctor can see the embryonic bud at around 5 weeks of pregnancy. When the embryonic bud grows to a certain size, the fetal heart structure should appear. When the fetal heartbeat appears, it usually tells us that the embryo is in good condition. If the length of the embryonic bud measured by transabdominal ultrasound examination has reached more than 9mm and the fetal heartbeat is still not seen, embryonic arrest should be considered; and if the length of the embryonic bud measured by transvaginal ultrasound examination has reached more than 5mm and the fetal heartbeat is still not seen, embryonic arrest should also be considered.

Generally speaking, when the fetal heart rate can just be detected, it is relatively slow. At around 5 weeks of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate may be only around 100 beats per minute; as the embryo grows and the fetal heart becomes more obvious, by around 6 weeks of pregnancy, it can reach around 140 beats per minute; by around 9 weeks of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate may even reach around 160 to 180 beats per minute. If you still cannot see the embryo bud and fetal heartbeat after more than 5 weeks of amenorrhea, don't panic, because the gestational age is usually estimated based on the last menstrual period. At this time, you need to consider: Is your menstruation regular? How often does your period come? When is the approximate time for sexual intercourse? Continue to wait and observe, and cooperate with the doctor for other examinations. Keep a good mood, don't put too much pressure on yourself, and don't give up easily. You may be able to see the embryo bud and fetal heartbeat on the next B-ultrasound.

2. Causes of no fetal heartbeat or fetal bud

Whether it is sperm or egg, as long as the chromosomes carrying genetic material are abnormal, even if a fertilized egg is formed, the embryo will not develop normally. In addition, harmful substances include toxic chemicals, inferior decoration materials, etc. If pregnant women come into contact with it, it will affect the growth and development of the embryo. In addition, there is a possibility of exposure to radiation or large amounts of electromagnetic radiation. If an expectant mother is exposed to X-rays without knowing it and receives a large amount of radiation, the development of the fetus will also be affected.

For a normal intrauterine pregnancy, ultrasound examination can usually show the intrauterine embryo and fetal heart tube pulsation at 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. If there is still no embryonic bud or fetal heartbeat after seven weeks of pregnancy, the pregnant mother should consider the possibility of embryonic development arrest and should go to the hospital in time to check the condition of the fetus. However, there are also cases where some women with irregular menstrual cycles, late ovulation, or late implantation of the fertilized egg will have a relatively delayed appearance of a fetal bud in their uterus and the timing of the fetal heartbeat will also be relatively delayed. It is recommended to observe for a week and then go to the hospital for a follow-up examination. If an expectant mother is infected with rubella, cytomegalovirus, etc., the pathogens will be indirectly transmitted to the fetus, which may cause fetal malformations. High fever or viral infection may also cause uterine contractions and lead to miscarriage.
