Therefore, it is completely possible for women to exercise during menstruation, but the particularity of menstruation cannot be ignored, and some special measures are needed. Due to the shedding and bleeding of the endometrium during menstruation, pelvic congestion, and decreased resistance of reproductive organs to infection, the following hygiene requirements should be paid attention to during exercise:

1. During menstruation, you should avoid excessive cold or heat stimulation (cold showers and saunas), especially the lower abdomen, to avoid dysmenorrhea or menstrual disorders.

2. The amount and intensity of exercise should be reduced on the first and second days of menstruation, and the exercise time should not be too long.

3. It is not advisable to do strenuous exercise during menstruation, especially movements that cause strong vibrations and increase abdominal pressure, such as sprinting, jumping (intense aerobics), and strength training with excessive loads. So as to avoid excessive menstrual bleeding or affecting the normal position of the uterus.

4. It is generally not advisable to swim during menstruation to avoid infection caused by bacteria invading when the self-cleaning function of the reproductive organs is reduced.

5. People with dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia or menstrual disorders should reduce the amount, intensity, and exercise time during menstruation, or even stop exercising.

6. Do not do abdominal massage during menstruation.
