An anteverted uterus is when the cervix points downward toward the posterior fornix of the vagina, the uterus bends forward, and the cervix is ​​behind the uterus. This condition is called an anteverted uterus. Some people say that it is easier to get pregnant if the uterus is positioned anteriorly, but medically speaking, there is no such statement. Although clinically it has been found that people with retroverted uterus have a lower chance of getting pregnant, this is because many gynecological diseases cause the uterus to adhere to the back, resulting in a retroverted uterus.

When we lie in bed, the inflammatory substances sink down, and there are more inflammatory substances behind the uterus, so adhesions are prone to occur on the posterior wall of the uterus. For example, pelvic inflammatory disease and endometriosis are caused by inflammation, which leads to retroverted uterus. So conversely, an anterior uterus is not necessarily easier to conceive than a posterior uterus. If the uterus is not restored to its original position within 3 months of pregnancy, it can easily compress the urethra and cause acute urinary retention.

Therefore, whether the pregnant uterus is anterior or posterior, there are certain hazards, and neither is better or worse. As long as you have regular prenatal checkups and take measures as soon as possible when you feel unwell, you will be fine.

How to get pregnant with a retroverted uterus

A husband and wife are trying to have a baby, but to no avail. After the physical examination, they were told that their wife had a "retroverted uterus". The reason was obvious: the uterus was positioned too far back, which made it easier for semen to enter the cervix, reducing the sperm's chance of seeing the egg.

1. After sexual intercourse, raise the buttocks: Place a pillow under the woman to raise her buttocks. This will cause the sperm to accumulate in the posterior fornix and the cervix and immerse in the semen pool, which can also greatly increase the chance of pregnancy.

2. Lie flat after sexual intercourse or adopt the rear entry position during sexual intercourse: the semen will accumulate in the anterior fornix of the vagina, making it easy for the upturned cervix to be soaked in semen.

3. Shortening of the annular ligament of the uterus or uterine suspension: The effect is uncertain and it may recur after a few years. Therefore, we do not advocate the use of this approach at this time.
