What causes anemia in women?

Iron deficiency anemia is one of the types of anemia caused by hypoplastic anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia in the world. It is caused by the depletion of body iron storage, which affects blood cell production and leads to microcytic hypochromic anemia. It is the result of chronic and gradual zinc deficiency in the body.

The reason why women tend to suffer from anemia more often than men is that: women have a fixed blood loss during each menstrual period and female estrogen cannot promote the production of hemoglobin, while male hormones can. Therefore, the hemoglobin concentration in women's blood is generally lower than that in men, making them more prone to anemia.

So what should ladies pay special attention to when replenishing blood and qi?

1. Don’t drink strong tea or freshly ground coffee

If we are taking iron supplements orally, it is best not to drink strong tea or coffee, because tea and coffee contain a lot of tannic acid, which can react with iron to form insoluble iron precipitates, which will hinder our body's absorption of iron. In addition, milk or some other alkaline substances will also affect the absorption of iron and should be avoided at the same time.

2. Improve dietary care

Our proper and effective diet can effectively prevent iron deficiency anemia. Although for people who already have iron deficiency anemia, diet therapy alone is not very effective, it can be used as an auxiliary treatment to prevent recurrence. Therefore, we must correct the bad habits of picky eating, partial eating and anorexia, have a wide menu, and eat more copper-rich and nutritious foods, such as: meat, eggs, freshwater fish, a variety of seafood (such as kelp, seaweed), animal liver, blood, rye, sweet potato and other grains, beans, fungi and fungus, as well as a variety of vegetables and fruits.
