Varicose veins of the areola

Varicose veins of the areola

Generally, the more common varicose veins grow in our thighs. For female friends, varicose veins may also occur in the breasts, especially those who are in lactation and adolescence. During this period, women's breasts change the most. It is precisely because of this change that varicose veins will appear in the areola. So what should we do if varicose veins appear in the areola?

What does a normal areola look like?

The diameter of the areola is about 3-4cm, and the color varies. It is rose red during puberty, and the pigmentation deepens to dark brown during pregnancy and lactation. The size and color of the areola may vary from woman to woman. In addition to the different periods of women's lives, the color of the areola is also affected by other factors, such as skin color. For example, after a woman becomes pregnant, the color of her areola will become darker. For some women, the color of their areola will also darken due to changes in estrogen in their bodies during certain periods. These are all normal physiological phenomena. If you want to judge the potential disease from the color of your areola, you should first understand the color changes of your own areola and eliminate differences caused by skin color, etc.

Be alert when you find 3 changes in your areola

1. The color of the nipples and areolas deepens and is accompanied by severe itching around the nipples and areolas. During breast examination, hyperplastic lesions or cystic hyperplastic lesions may be found in one or both breasts.

2. The color of the nipple and areola simply deepens, becoming dark brown or black brown. You may even find small nodules forming around the areola glands, forming protrusions. At this time, there is no lesion when examining the breasts. This may be due to decreased liver function caused by liver disease, because estrogen is not normally broken down in the liver.

3. The areola becomes darker in color and is accompanied by small nodules. When a woman's ovaries suffer from certain benign tumors, the amount of estrogen secreted by the ovaries increases, causing the color of the nipples and areola to darken, and many small nodules may appear around the areola glands.

Warm reminder: If you find similar changes in your areola, you must go to the hospital for a breast examination in time. If you are sick, you should detect and treat it early.
