Abortion at 6 months

Abortion at 6 months

Generally speaking, if a woman does not want the baby in her belly from the initial stage of pregnancy, she should undergo an abortion in time, because it is very difficult to perform an abortion in the late stage of pregnancy, and the success rate is very low. Fewer women choose to have an abortion at 6 months of pregnancy, but the probability still exists. If you want to have an abortion at 6 months of pregnancy, which abortion method should be used?

How to get an abortion when you are 6 months pregnant

1. When you are 6 months pregnant, you should consider induced abortion. Induced abortion requires a termination of pregnancy certificate issued by the government.

2. If you are 6 months pregnant, you can only have induced labor. During mid-term induced labor, the placenta has already formed, the fetus is larger, and the bones have become harder. The cervix needs to be fully dilated during delivery. After a successful induction of labor, the patient usually needs to stay in the hospital for observation for 3-4 days. The doctor will provide necessary treatment based on the circumstances of the induced labor. If there are no abnormalities, the patient can be discharged from the hospital after 3 days. Rest for at least one month after induced abortion. If you do not plan to have a child, it is recommended to have the surgery as soon as possible. Otherwise, the longer you wait, the more difficult the surgery will be.

3. If you are already 6 months pregnant, it is recommended to try to keep the fetus. If you don't want the child anymore, you have no choice but to have an induced labor. The risk of surgery is greater than that of abortion. If you have decided to have an induced labor, you should have the surgery as soon as possible. When induced labor occurs, the placenta has already formed, the fetus is larger, and the bones are harder, so the cervix needs to be fully dilated for delivery. In addition, as the uterus enlarges and the uterine wall becomes congested and softened, it is easy to damage the uterine wall during surgery. Therefore, mid-term induced labor is more difficult and has more complications than early abortion, so early abortion should be performed as much as possible.

Four major precautions after abortion:

1. Pay attention to rest and improve nutrition. After an abortion, you should rest in bed for 2 to 3 days, then you can get out of bed and move around, gradually increasing the time you spend active. Do not engage in heavy physical labor and avoid contact with cold water within half a month after the abortion. It takes about a month for the uterus to recover after an abortion. Therefore, we should pay attention to increasing nutrition, taking in adequate protein, enhancing the body's resistance to disease, and promoting the early repair of injured organs. After an abortion, you should eat more protein-rich foods such as fish, meat, eggs, and bean products, as well as new vegetables rich in vitamins to speed up your body's recovery.

2. Keep the vulva clean and hygienic, and avoid sexual intercourse. The cervix has not closed after abortion, and the endometrium also has a repair process. During this period, special attention should be paid to keeping the vulva clean and hygienic. Do not take a bath in a tub within half a month after the operation to prevent unclean water from entering the vagina, leading to bacterial invasion and infection. Avoid sexual intercourse within one month after abortion.

3. Observe the bleeding situation and prevent the condition from worsening. If vaginal bleeding lasts for more than one week after an abortion, and is accompanied by symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, fever, turbid and smelly leucorrhea, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

4. Pay attention to contraception to avoid pregnancy again. After abortion, the ovarian and uterine functions gradually recover, and the ovaries ovulate on schedule. If you don't stick to contraception, you will get pregnant again soon. Some women get pregnant again in the same month after having an abortion, which has a greater impact on the body. Therefore, reliable contraceptive measures should be chosen. Abortion can only be used as a remedial surgery as a last resort after contraceptive failure. Abortion should never be used as a contraceptive measure to protect the physical and mental health of women.
