How to give vaginal suppositories

Gynecological diseases are common diseases among women. There are many types of gynecological diseases. Some gynecological diseases require vaginal suppositories during treatment. For example, most cases of vaginitis require vaginal suppositories during treatment. Some people do not know how to give vaginal suppositories. In fact, vaginal suppositories require methods and skills. You cannot blindly give vaginal suppositories, otherwise it will not achieve the effect of curing the disease. So how to give vaginal suppositories?

Correct technique for vaginal suppositories

1. Pay attention to the time of suppository

The medication is more effective when taken at night. Generally, vaginal medication should be used at night, because this allows the drug to fully decompose during sleep and act directly on the local area. If used during the day, the drug will easily flow out of the vagina, preventing the drug from fully contacting the diseased area and contaminating the underwear.

You must be determined to fight a protracted battle and insist on treatment, especially if you are taking suppositories due to vaginitis or cervicitis. You must strive for a complete cure. After treatment, you must still follow the doctor's advice to go to the hospital for a follow-up examination. You cannot stop treatment just because the symptoms have eased. If it is not completely cured, it is easy to relapse, and it can also cause bacteria to develop drug resistance, making it difficult to cure.

Three consecutive examinations were normal. It can be called recovery. You cannot assume that you are cured just because you feel better. Even if you take medicine on your own, you need to go to the hospital in time to test your vaginal secretions to confirm whether you have recovered. Even if the test results are normal, you still need to continue a course of treatment after the next menstrual period. Recovery can only be considered complete if the results are normal for three consecutive examinations.

2. Pay attention to the depth of the suppository

One index finger long: Where is the ideal position for self-insertion? Use one hand to separate the labia majora and minora, and use the index finger of the other hand to push the pill from the back wall of the vagina until the index finger is fully inserted.

3. Pay attention to cleaning

Cleaning the vulva: Be sure to clean the vulva with an appropriate detergent before taking the medicine to reduce secretions and clean the vagina, thereby improving the efficacy. Otherwise, vaginal secretions will affect the efficacy of the drug.

Wash your hands: Wash your hands before applying the medicine yourself to avoid bringing bacteria into the vagina and causing reinfection.

Change underwear frequently: During the medication period, keep the vulva clean and dry as much as possible, wear cotton breathable underwear, and change it daily.

Avoid sexual intercourse: It is better for couples to treat together during drug treatment and not to have sexual intercourse.

What should patients with vaginitis pay attention to in daily life

1. You should keep a good mood, pay attention to nutrition, combine work and rest, enhance your own resistance and improve your physical fitness. Eat more nutritious foods such as high-protein and low-fat meat and eggs, and vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins. Avoid raw, cold, greasy and spicy food.

2. Wear cotton underwear and change it frequently. Make sure the clothes are breathable and keep separate towels and basins for cleaning the vulva. Washed underwear should be placed in the sun to dry, not in the bathroom.

3. After defecation, wipe from front to back to avoid bringing Candida albicans from the anus to the vagina.

4. Make sure the treatment is thorough and prevent recurrence. Many patients with vaginitis stop treatment after their symptoms are alleviated, which causes the infection to rebound, resulting in repeated attacks of vaginitis and long-term failure to cure. The duration of treatment for candidal infection during pregnancy is longer than that during the non-pregnancy period, and the treatment duration should be extended by at least 7 days, or even 2 weeks.
