You must pay attention to good care and maintenance after medical abortion. First of all, you should choose a regular hospital for abortion surgery and get enough rest after the abortion, at least 3 to 4 days. Secondly, anti-inflammatory drugs must be taken on time and in the correct dosage. Things to note after medical abortion:

1. After taking the medicine for medical abortion, if there is vaginal bleeding, continue to take the medicine and do not stop taking it. Use a spittoon for urination and defecation, and pay attention to whether there is any tissue discharged. If you have any, you need to see a doctor for examination. If vaginal bleeding is more than twice the amount of menstrual flow, you should seek medical attention immediately and be closely observed, and the obstetrician and gynecologist will handle it as appropriate.

2. Some pregnant women experience mild nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, lower abdominal pain and other discomforts after taking medication for medical abortion. Some may also develop a rash, but generally no treatment is required.

How long does bleeding last after medication abortion?

After medical abortion, the average number of days of bleeding after the fetal sac is expelled is 16 days.

If someone is still bleeding for more than 18 days, it may be that the decidua is not completely detached, affecting uterine contraction and hemostasis; or the fetal sac is not completely expelled, leading to incomplete abortion; a small number of patients are infected after medical abortion surgery, resulting in endometrial inflammation.
