Although breasts are usually strong and not prone to illness, in recent years, more and more patients have developed breast diseases. Some patients even show symptoms in the early stages of the disease but still do not go to the hospital for examination in time, especially women who are breastfeeding. Considering the need to breastfeed their babies, they do not want to go to the hospital for examination and damage their breast health. Sometimes, they even bleed when sucking milk and do not know what is going on. If a woman has any abnormality in her breasts, she must be alert and go to the hospital for examination immediately. Experts remind women not to delay seeking medical attention due to shyness if they find abnormal nipple discharge, nipple bleeding, or breast lumps. Statistics from the Department of Health show that the incidence and mortality rates of breast cancer have been increasing year by year. Women should never take breast self-examination lightly. When examining the breasts, pay attention to the presence of lumps, chronic eczema, ulcers, and nipple secretions, especially bloody secretions. In fact, nipple bleeding is not common. If you find bleeding, you should see a doctor immediately to determine the cause. In recent years, the clinic has received eight patients with nipple bleeding, ranging in age from 40 to 73 years old. Through palpation, breast ultrasound and mammography, three patients were found to have breast cancer, four had intraductal papilloma, and the other had ductal epithelial hyperplasia. There are many reasons for nipple bleeding, including trauma, inflammation and infection, fibrocystic fibrosis, and tumors. Tumors include malignant and benign tumors. Malignant tumors are the frightening breast cancer, while benign tumors include intraductal papilloma. The cause of nipple discharge cannot be determined by the naked eye, and sometimes various tests such as ultrasound and mammography are needed to help doctors find out whether there is a tumor or any signs of breast cancer. To truly determine the disease, it is still necessary to remove the tumor and do a biopsy to find out the disease and treatment method. Different treatment methods are required depending on the diagnosis and vary from person to person. Benign tumors can be cured by local resection; malignant tumors require more complicated surgery. It is recommended that female friends should follow the three steps of breast health: regular monthly self-examination, examination by a specialist for women over 35 years old, and mammography every two to three years for women over 50 years old, in order to achieve early diagnosis and early treatment. |
