How many days after conception can blood test be done

A blood test for pregnancy is the most accurate. If your period is seven days late, you can go to the hospital for a blood test. It is not accurate to use the early pregnancy test paper at this time. You can wait until about two weeks after the menstruation stops and then use the early pregnancy test paper to check, which is more accurate. Early pregnancy test strips require the use of morning urine, which is very convenient. Let’s take a look at this aspect.

How many days after conception can blood test be done

Early pregnancy test strips are the simplest and most economical way to test pregnancy. The testing principle of the early pregnancy test strip is to detect the HCG value in urine, which is the value of human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone is produced by the placenta and usually appears in the urine a few days after pregnancy. However, due to the small amount, it is difficult to test it at the beginning and it becomes increasingly obvious after 10 to 14 days.

After the fertilized egg meets and combines in the fallopian tube, it will take 5 days to swim from the fallopian tube to the uterus and stay in the uterine cavity for 3-4 days. This process takes about 10 days in total. Therefore, if you use an early pregnancy diagnostic kit with a relatively high sensitivity (15 international units), you can detect HCG about 10 days after ovulation; if you use a general early pregnancy test paper (25 international units), you can detect HCG about 15 days after ovulation. This is very normal and reasonable.

It should be noted that some current pregnancy test strips claim to be able to detect whether or not you are pregnant the next day after intercourse, which is simply impossible. In fact, not all pregnant women release HCG hormone at the same rate and in the same amount. It varies from person to person. If a urine test is done too early, a negative result may be false. Morning urine must be used for early pregnancy tests because it is concentrated and has higher hormone levels. In order to increase the positive rate of the test, you should try to reduce your water intake the night before.

Generally speaking, if your menstruation has not come for more than 7 days and you have not used contraception or have incomplete contraception in the past, you can consider using morning urine for an early pregnancy test to determine whether you are pregnant. However, other reasons for delayed menstruation include gynecological diseases, mental factors, excessive weight loss, drug effects, etc. It does not mean that you are pregnant as long as your menstruation is delayed.

Best time to take a pregnancy test

1. Early pregnancy test detection time

If you use an early pregnancy test to detect pregnancy, you can choose to test 3 to 5 days after your period is delayed. After the test, if two red bars appear on the test paper, it means you are pregnant, otherwise it means you are not pregnant.

2. Ultrasound examination time

If you want to check whether you are pregnant through B-ultrasound, you can go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination seven days after your period is delayed. Generally speaking, the accuracy of B-ultrasound examination results is still very high.

3. Basal body temperature test time

The basal body temperature test method is to test your basal body temperature every day after your period is delayed for at least seven days. If the basal body temperature remains at a high level for several consecutive days, you are likely pregnant.

4. Blood HCG detection time

Couples can go to the hospital for this test about 10 days after sexual intercourse to determine whether they are pregnant.
