Why can't morning urine detect ovulation?

Ovulation is a very special period. Many women have downtime every month and release one to two eggs. The main purpose of the egg is to wait for the combination with the sperm. If there is no spiritual combination, it will automatically be lost. Many people don’t quite understand how to measure ovulation, don’t know when they will ovulate, and even choose to use urination to measure ovulation. In fact, there are many ways to measure ovulation. Let’s see which one is more effective.

How to detect ovulation

Ovulation is a special period. Because women release one or two eggs during ovulation. When the egg and sperm combine, pregnancy is possible again. Therefore, many couples choose to have sex during the ovulation period so that they can become parents sooner. Next, let’s take a look at how to measure ovulation.

1. Mucus observation method

First, wash your fingers thoroughly, spread your legs, and use your lower abdomen to push the uterus forward. Then put your fingers into the vagina, and you will feel a solid mass, which is the cervical canal. If you are in the ovulation period, it will be full of mucus. Take a little mucus and try to pull it. If it is the day of ovulation, the mucus can be pulled to 10-15 cm. If you place the mucus on a microscope slide and observe it after it dries, you can see beautiful crystal images similar to ferns.

The closer you are to ovulation, the larger and clearer the crystal image will be. The reason is that during the ovulation period, there is a large amount of estrogen in the cervical mucus (commonly known as leucorrhea). The closer to ovulation, the more estrogen there is. On the day of ovulation, estrogen reaches its peak. At this time, the leucorrhea is the clearest and the longest. Therefore, the fern-shaped forked image is the clearest. Not 100% of women can see the full screen cross.

2. Basal body temperature measurement method

The so-called basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when you wake up in the morning, your body remains quiet and your mood is calm. During the menstrual cycle, basal body temperature changes cyclically. The basal body temperature is lower after menstruation and during the follicular phase. After ovulation, the corpus luteum is formed in the ovary, and the progesterone produced acts on the hypothalamic temperature regulation center, causing the body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5℃, which lasts until 1-2 days before menstruation or the first day of menstruation, when the body temperature returns to its original level. Since human body temperature can change due to a number of reasons, when measuring it, you must have a normal life routine, sleep for more than 6 hours a day, and the measurement time should be roughly the same every day. As the pace of life quickens, work and rest times become irregular, with an accuracy rate of around 60%.

3. Middle pain method

Also known as the ovulation day pain method; some people feel pain in the lower abdomen in the middle of two menstrual periods, just before ovulation, which is called intermediate pain or ovulation pain. Experts have investigated and found that 97% of the pain in the middle is felt before ovulation. Therefore, if there is pain in the middle, it can be assumed that ovulation will occur within 24 hours. This method may be the easiest and simplest way for some people. The disadvantage is that only 15% of women experience middle pain and cannot use this method.

4. Ovulation (LH) test strips

The ovulation (LH) test strip is also called the luteinizing hormone test strip; due to its easy operation, it gives hope to many women. The test paper will gradually show weak positive and strong positive characteristics. According to the principle of ovulation test strips, find the most suitable method to detect ovulation with ovulation test strips, which is to use ovulation test strips once a day about a week after the end of menstruation. If you find that the ovulation test paper starts to show a strong positive result, you should increase the frequency of testing, preferably once every 4 hours. If you compare the test strips and find that the ovulation test strip begins to weaken and quickly becomes weaker, it means that ovulation is about to occur and you can plan to have sex. The 24-48 hours after the ovulation test paper turns weak is generally the time range for ovulation.
