The fetal head enters the pelvis: As delivery approaches, the presenting part of the fetus will gradually descend. For a fetus in head position, the fetal head will enter the pelvis. In primiparas, the fetal head usually enters the pelvis first, and some people will go into labor about 1-2 weeks after it enters the pelvis. In multiparous women, the fetal head enters the pelvis and labor starts at the same time.

When the fetal head enters the pelvis, the mother will feel a distinct sense of the fetus descending. I felt my abdomen become lighter and my breathing became smoother. This is mainly due to the descent of the fetus, which reduces the pressure of the uterus on the diaphragm. At the same time, you may also feel an improvement in your appetite. However, as the fetal head descends, the pressure on the bladder will be more obvious, so you will feel frequent and urgent urination.

Frequent uterine contractions: In the late pregnancy, as the gestational age increases, spontaneous uterine contractions will become more frequent and stronger. If contractions occur every 5 minutes or so, last for more than 20 seconds, and are obviously painful, it indicates that labor is imminent. This is a relatively accurate signal.

Bloody show: Before delivery, the cervical canal matures, part of the fetal membrane near the internal os of the cervix separates from the uterine wall, and a small amount of bloody secretion will appear, which is called bloody show. Generally, labor will occur about 2 days after the onset of bleeding.

In addition to these obvious characteristics, some pregnant women may also feel increased secretions, decreased fetal movements, etc., which may vary from person to person. In short, if the above symptoms occur in the late pregnancy, you should be prepared to give birth at any time.
