How many days after stopping progesterone will menstruation come?

If a woman's progesterone level is low, she needs to take progesterone injections to regulate it. Progesterone has a very good effect in inducing menstruation and can make women's menstruation come earlier. If a woman's menstruation is severely delayed, she can also inject progesterone to promote the onset of menstruation as soon as possible. Generally speaking, progesterone has a very good effect in inducing menstruation, and menstruation will come within a very short time. So, how many days after stopping progesterone will menstruation come?

Some women have irregular menstruation, which is delayed in coming when it should be, and test strips show no pregnancy. At this time, women will wonder why their menstruation has not come yet and think of ways to induce menstruation. Some women have personal reasons, such as going on a business trip or taking an exam next week or other important things, and it will be inconvenient for them to have their period, so they will think of inducing menstruation. Some women may wonder, can they have sex after taking progesterone? Many women know that progesterone can induce menstruation. Even if they don't know, the doctor will recommend taking progesterone when they go to the hospital for examination.

So, how long does it take to get your period after taking progesterone? Generally, your period will come about 3-7 days after the injection of progesterone (that is, within one week after stopping the medication). If it does not come, further examination of the ovarian condition is required. You can have sex, but you need to take safe contraceptive measures. Some people may experience breast pain, which may be due to the approaching menstruation. It is recommended that you relax and avoid being too nervous.

Reasons for not having menstruation while taking progesterone

Some people become anxious or worried if they still don't have their period after taking progesterone, and don't understand why it's not working. In fact, menstruation will come about 3 to 7 days after taking progesterone. If it is still within this period, you need to wait patiently. If it still hasn't come after many days, you need to pay attention. What are the reasons for it not coming?

If you are pregnant, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a six-item hormone test. The contents of the six-item hormone test are:

(1) Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH): It is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the alkaliphilic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. Its main function is to promote the development and maturation of ovarian follicles.

(2) Luteinizing hormone (LH): It is also a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the alkaliphilic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. It mainly promotes ovulation (with the synergistic effect of FSH), forms the corpus luteum and secretes progesterone.

(3) Prolactin (PRL): It is secreted by the lactating trophoblast, one of the eosinophilic cells in the anterior pituitary gland. It is a simple protein hormone whose main function is to promote breast hyperplasia, milk production and milk discharge.

(4) Estradiol (E2): Secreted by the ovarian follicles, its main function is to promote the transition of the endometrium into the proliferative phase and promote the development of female secondary sexual characteristics.

(5) Progesterone (P): secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary. Its main function is to promote the transition of the endometrium from the proliferative phase to the secretory phase.

(6) Testosterone (T): 50% of the testosterone in women is converted from peripheral androstenone-2-one, about 25% is secreted by the adrenal cortex, and only 25% comes from the ovaries. The main function is to promote the development of the clitoris, labia and mons pubis.

If it is caused by endocrine disorders, some are related to hypothalamic pituitary disorders, it is recommended to strengthen nutrition to increase the amount of body fat, exercise physical fitness, improve living environment, and use estrogen and progesterone for artificial cycle treatment or use gonadotropin treatment. Strengthening physical fitness can effectively prevent the disease. If the symptoms persist for a long time, it is recommended to go to the hospital for timely examination and treatment.
