Causes of oral ulcers in women

Women are more likely to suffer from oral ulcers. The incidence of oral ulcers in women is sometimes higher than that in men. For example, if a woman has hormonal fluctuations or bad mood, it may induce the occurrence of oral ulcers. Some other gastrointestinal diseases and the body's own lack of vitamins may cause oral ulcers. For women, if oral ulcers occur, timely treatment and recuperation are required.

Causes of oral ulcers in women

But in fact, there are many reasons that cause oral ulcers. In addition to improper diet being the cause of oral ulcers, there are many other factors. Today, I will talk to you about the six main culprits that cause oral ulcers.

What causes oral ulcers

1. Gastrointestinal diseases

Recurrent mouth ulcers may also indicate that your body is facing the threat of gastrointestinal disease. From a medical perspective, many symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases include recurrent oral ulcers, because gastrointestinal discomfort can affect the body's digestion and absorption of many foods, thereby affecting the supplementation of many elements.

2. Hormone Fluctuations

Some women will experience oral ulcers during their menstrual period or before and after their menstrual period. After self-healing or recovery, they will still appear during the next menstrual period and are extremely painful. It is mainly caused by increased progesterone levels and decreased estrogen levels in the body.

3. Immune system disorder or immunodeficiency

Recurrent multiple oral ulcers accompanied by external genital ulcers at the same time or before and after; acne and folliculitis on the skin; eye discomfort and decreased vision should be considered as Behcet's disease. If oral ulcers are accompanied by hair loss, purple-red spots on the face, joint pain and other symptoms before and after, it may be caused by lupus erythematosus. Oral ulcers accompanied by persistent fever and frequent infections should be considered as blood system diseases.

4. Tumor

Older patients with a long history of oral ulcers should be alert to the possibility of oral mucosal cancer if they have deeper and larger ulcers and unexplained lumps in the mouth.

5. Lack of vitamins and trace elements

Lack of trace elements such as zinc, iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, etc. can cause angular cheilitis. Many daily life behaviors may cause vitamin deficiency, such as excessively washing rice, eating refined rice and noodles for a long time, eating vegetarian food, etc., which can easily cause the deficiency of B vitamins.

6. High mental stress

Work fatigue, mental stress, mood swings, neurological disorders, etc. can also cause oral ulcers to "visit" repeatedly.

How to treat mouth ulcers

1. Gargle with ginger water

Rinse your mouth with hot ginger water for oral ulcers 2 to 3 times a day. Generally, the ulcer surface will shrink after 6 to 9 times.

2. Vitamin B2

Grind vitamin B2 into fine powder, mix it with appropriate amount of sesame oil to make a thin paste, and apply it to the surface of the ulcer, 4 to 6 times a day.

3. Rinse your mouth with strong tea

Rinse your mouth with strong tea, because tea contains a variety of vitamins, which can prevent and treat various inflammations and have a certain auxiliary therapeutic effect on the recovery of oral ulcers.

4. Radish and lotus root juice

Take 2 raw radishes and a piece of fresh lotus root, wash and mash them, squeeze out the juice and remove the residue. Gargle with the juice 3 times a day. Use it for 4 days in a row to see the effect.

5. Vitamin C tablets

Crush the vitamin C tablet and apply it to the affected area. It will be effective in one or two times. You can also grind vitamin C into powder. If it is a small ulcer, just apply a small amount to the affected area. If the ulcer is large, you should first gently scrape off the exudate from the ulcer surface, and then apply the powder. Take the medicine 2-3 times a day. Small ulcers can be cured after 1-2 times of medication, and large ulcers can be cured after 2-3 times of medication. The pain can be significantly relieved and the ulcer surface can be healed in 2-3 days.
