How big is the follicle on the thirteenth day of menstruation

How big is the follicle on the thirteenth day of menstruation

The substance called follicles in the female body is actually the most primitive form of the prince, and many women calculate the maturity of the follicles during pregnancy preparation, because this will enable them to conceive better. Moreover, if the follicles mature to a certain stage, the woman's chances of pregnancy will greatly increase. Therefore, it is also very important to master the method of calculating the maturity of follicles. So, on the 13th day of menstruation, how big should the follicles be?

Normal menstruation lasts from 28 to 30 days. The 13th day of menstruation is basically approaching the ovulation period. At this time, the follicles are generally between 18-25 mm, and the thickness of the endometrium is best to reach 8 to 10 mm, which is conducive to the implantation of the fertilized egg. If you have a long menstrual cycle, the follicles will be smaller and the endometrium will be thinner. We can only continue to monitor with B-ultrasound.

The growth from primary follicles to mature follicles can be divided into 8 levels. The first 5 levels are too small and take too long to grow, so they do not have much practical significance. Starting from the sixth level, the focus should be on it. The diameter of the sixth-level follicle is 5mm. After 5 days, it grows to 10mm and becomes the seventh-level follicle.

After another 5 days of development, the eighth-level follicle has a diameter of 16 cm. The eighth level follicle is a mature follicle, so it takes a total of 10 days for a sixth level follicle to grow into an eighth level follicle, which is exactly the ovulation period in a menstrual cycle. Starting from 16cm, it will mature to 20cm after 2-3 days. If it is the 13th day after menstruation, which is also the follicular phase, the diameter of the ovary during the follicular phase is about 16cm-20cm, which is the normal standard.

What to do if follicle development is not standard

The mature follicle is round or oval in shape, with a diameter of 15-30mm. The follicle is clear and pure, with clear boundaries and thin walls. When ovulation approaches, it reaches 18mm or even more than 20mm. If the follicles do not develop properly, normal conception will be affected. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time.

The normal size of a mature follicle is 18-25mm. If it is lower or larger than this standard, ovulation will not occur normally. Factors causing ovulation disorders include: central nervous system anovulation; hypothalamic anovulation; pituitary anovulation; ovarian anovulation; polycystic ovary syndrome; luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome; others: other endocrine systems other than gonads, such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction and some systemic diseases such as severe malnutrition can affect the regulation of ovarian function and lead to ovulation disorders.
