Confinement taboos

1. Let’s talk about food first. You can’t do whatever you want during the confinement period. Instead, you should follow some taboos and avoid eating cold, spicy or nutritious food. Do not eat vegetables and fruits; take Chinese medicine and diet therapy at will; do not avoid chocolate; smoke, drink coffee or tea. All of the above are taboos. 2. Do not blow the wind, and do not face the air conditioner or fan; pay attention to keeping warm, wear long clothes and long pants, wear a confinement hat, and wear socks. If the weather is hot, you can choose linen or pure cotton clothes; pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, and do not wash your hair frequently. If you need to wash, dry it with a towel immediately after washing, and do not use a blower.

3. You should not sit or stand for long periods of time during the confinement period, and you should not do housework or other activities that require high levels of activity. Don't always hold the baby in your arms, as this will hurt your arms. Injuring your arms during the confinement period can cause postpartum disease, which means your arms will hurt in the later stages of the confinement period. Also, you should exercise in moderation and not do strenuous exercise just for the sake of losing weight. The body is very weak during the confinement period. Even a small unintentional movement, like twisting a towel, can cause pain in the finger joints later. Therefore, you must not get tired during the confinement period and try to get more rest.

New mothers need more rest, but they don’t have to stay in bed for a long time. They can walk around the house appropriately, which is conducive to the discharge of lochia. The mother can also do anal contraction exercises in bed twice a day for 5 minutes each time, which is beneficial to the retraction of the uterus. In addition, appropriate reading of books, newspapers and watching TV can help mothers relieve depression and reduce the occurrence of postpartum depression. But be careful not to use your eyes for more than half an hour at a time.
