The specific solution depends on the gestational age of the pregnant mother, the health status of the baby, and whether there are other complications. If there is too little amniotic fluid, the fetus is found to be normal after examination, and the pregnant woman has no serious complications, the amount of amniotic fluid can be increased by drinking water quickly. 5. If the low amniotic fluid is caused by insufficient blood volume or lack of oxygen in the pregnant woman, drinking plenty of water or soup, intravenous infusion, and oxygen supplementation can also be effective.

What is oligohydramnios

There are two methods to measure the amount of amniotic fluid by B-ultrasound. One is to measure the largest amniotic fluid pool, which should be larger than 3cm and smaller than 8cm. The second is to measure the amniotic fluid index. The normal range is 8~25cm. When the amniotic fluid index is less than 8cm, it is oligohydramnios, and when the amniotic fluid index is greater than 25cm, it is polyhydramnios. Common causes of oligohydramnios include fetal developmental abnormalities, intrauterine growth retardation, chromosomal abnormalities, amniotic lesions, or the mother suffering from certain diseases, and low blood volume.

When the fetus is in the mother's belly, it eats, drinks, defecates and urinates in the amniotic fluid, which is also an important substance for the pregnant woman and the fetus to exchange nutrients and metabolize waste.
