Bed rest for low gestational sac

Bed rest for low gestational sac

In the early stages of pregnancy, the gestational sac is usually examined. The location of the gestational sac has a certain impact on whether a woman can have a normal pregnancy. If the gestational sac is too low, it is dangerous for both the pregnant woman herself and the fetus. Therefore, after discovering that the gestational sac is low, timely treatment and conditioning must be carried out to ensure a normal pregnancy!

1. What is a low gestational sac?

Under normal circumstances, the gestational sac should be attached to the front, back and side walls of the uterus. But in some cases, the gestational sac is attached to the top of the internal os of the cervix like a small hat, just wearing it on the head or buttocks of the fetus. In this case, the gestational sac is low.

According to the position of the low gestational sac, it can be divided into three types: when the internal os of the cervix is completely covered by the gestational sac tissue, it is called a complete (or central) low gestational sac; if only a part of the internal os of the cervix is covered by the gestational sac, it is called a partial low gestational sac; if the lower edge of the placenta is exactly at the edge of the internal os of the cervix, it is called a marginal (or low-positioned) low gestational sac.

A low gestational sac may have no symptoms in the early stages of pregnancy. As the gestational age increases and the uterus grows, the gestational sac in the lower part of the uterus cannot stretch with the uterus and can easily become dislocated and detached, causing vaginal bleeding. When heavy bleeding occurs, it threatens the lives of the pregnant woman and fetus.

2. What is the reason for the low gestational sac?

1. Implantation position is too low

The fertilized egg is like a seed that takes root and sprouts in the uterus. The location of its germination is random, so don't worry if the implantation position is simply low. It can usually be adjusted later.

2. Embryonic maldevelopment

Poor development of the embryo may also cause the gestational sac to be located low. In cases like this, it should generally be taken seriously. If the gestational sac is in a low position and accompanied by bleeding, miscarriage is possible.

3. Endometrial damage

Multiple pregnancies, multiple artificial abortions, multiple curettages and cesarean sections can all cause damage to the endometrium. When the fertilized egg implants into the decidua of the uterus, the gestational sac may be positioned low due to insufficient blood supply.

3. What to do if the gestational sac is low

1. Hospitalization

If the gestational sac is too low and accompanied by bleeding, hospitalization is required for fetal preservation treatment, and oral or injectable medications are taken under the guidance of a doctor to preserve the fetus.

2. Absolute bed rest

If the implantation position is too low, it can easily cause miscarriage, so you are required to reduce exercise and stay in bed to protect the fetus. Prevent miscarriage of an unstable fetus during activities.

4. Change your sleeping position

If you find that the gestational sac is too low, you can use a pillow to raise your buttocks when sleeping to adjust the position of the gestational sac. Generally, you should lie flat on your back, but you can also decide whether to lie on your left or right side depending on the location of the gestational sac.

5. Nutritious diet

Pregnant women are advised not to have too much psychological burden and maintain a good attitude. You should also pay attention to a balanced and nutritious diet and eat more high-protein foods to provide the gestational sac with sufficient nutrients for growth.
