Everyone knows that the physiological phenomenon of menstruation is one of the important signs of female body maturity. The main manifestation of menstruation inside the female body is that the female reproductive organs have developed to the point where they can withstand pregnancy. However, some women do not understand their body structure very well and think that they can definitely get pregnant just because they have their period. So if a woman has her period, can she really get pregnant? First of all, women who are truly pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy will not have menstruation. They will only have menstruation after giving birth to a baby. Some friends don’t breastfeed, so they will have their period in the second month. Some friends get their period a month after feeding their baby, and some friends get their period while breastfeeding, but no matter what, you definitely won’t get your period when you’re pregnant! Does it mean that I won't get pregnant if I have my period? After puberty, usually only one follicle in the ovary can grow and mature in each sexual cycle. The mature follicle ruptures and discharges the cells inside, which is called "ovulation." After ovulation, a corpus luteum is formed within the follicle cells. If the egg is not fertilized, the life span of the corpus luteum does not exceed 14 days and it shrinks and disappears. After 3-4 days a new cycle begins. During the ovarian cycle, an endocrine hormone called estrogen is produced as the follicles grow and develop. After ovulation, the corpus luteum produces another endocrine hormone, progesterone, in addition to estrogen. During the cyclic changes of the uterus, the role of estrogen is to cause the endometrium to grow and thicken and increase the number of blood vessels. After ovulation, the estrogen and progesterone secreted by the corpus luteum work together to cause the thickened endometrium to bend and secrete, preparing for the possible arrival of the fertilized egg. If conception does not occur, the corpus luteum atrophies, the endometrium loses hormonal support, and begins to atrophy, necrotize, and fall off. The blood is discharged from the body along with the shed endometrial debris, and this is "menstruation." Does it mean that you will not get pregnant if your menstruation comes? If your menstruation does not come, it may not necessarily be related to pregnancy. It may be other symptoms such as pregnancy. |
