Is white musk harmful to girls?

We have heard a lot about musk in TV dramas about the Qing Dynasty. Many people have spread rumors that musk is bad for women and may cause infertility. White musk is a type of musk. Nowadays, many perfumes and shower gels contain white musk to make them smell better. Many girls are afraid that white musk is harmful to girls and will affect their fertility. So is white musk harmful to girls?

1. The difference between white musk and musk

The smell of white musk is different from musk, it is softer. Musk is a secretion from the glands of male musk deer, located near their navel. It is used in the perfume industry because of its strong smell and is also a relatively expensive animal raw material.

2. Does white musk cause infertility?

Long-term exposure to white musk may affect conception and cause miscarriage, but generally will not cause infertility. Musk contains musk ketone, cholesterol, steroid hormone-like substances, etc., among which musk ketone is the main component. It can excite the nervous system, respiratory center and heart, accelerate breathing and heartbeat, and help revive comatose patients. Musk can promote the secretion of various glands, has sweating and diuretic effects. Its water-soluble components can stimulate the uterus and cause miscarriage. Pregnant women should try to avoid contact with medicines containing musk.

3. Causes of infertility

1. Ovarian factors:

As we all know, women must ovulate to get pregnant. If there is a hormone imbalance, it will not promote the maturation and ovulation of the egg, which may cause infertility. Medical research has shown that approximately 10% to 15% of infertile couples are due to ovulation disorders in women. There are many factors that cause ovulation disorders clinically, such as severe malnutrition, allergies, malabsorption, excessive weight loss, high work pressure, excessive strenuous exercise, exposure to chemicals or radiation contaminated environments, etc., all of which may cause ovulation disorders.

2. Cervical factors:

The cervix is the first checkpoint for sperm to enter the uterine cavity. Sperm must use cervical mucus as a medium to move and smoothly pass through the cervical canal into the uterine cavity. If there is a problem with the secretion, acidity or thickness of cervical mucus, sperm cannot pass through the cervix, which can also cause infertility.

3. Uterine factors:

The entire complex endocrine system, including the hypothalamus, pituitary glands and ovaries, must work in coordination to achieve perfect reproductive function. The hormones secreted by the ovaries act on the endometrium, causing it to proliferate and thicken, mainly providing a fertile developmental environment for the fertilized egg so that it can take root and grow. If there is a problem with the reproductive endocrine system, it will affect ovulation or the fertilized egg will not be able to implant normally.
