Can adnexitis heal on its own?

Women may suffer from many kinds of gynecological diseases in their lives, including adnexitis. It is reported that married women are a high-risk group for this disease. Once suffering from adnexitis, the patient will experience pain in the lower abdomen, especially when pressed with the hands, the pain will be aggravated, and many patients will also have symptoms of fever. So if adnexitis is not treated, is it possible for it to heal on its own?

Can adnexitis heal on its own?

In life, there are still many women suffering from gynecological diseases, but they still hold the mentality of delaying treatment as long as possible, thinking that many serious diseases can always heal on their own. It is true that some minor illnesses will heal on their own over time, but is the same true for adnexitis? Can it be ignored?

1. Adnexitis cannot heal itself

Adnexitis is a common gynecological disease in women. Not only can it not heal itself, but if not treated in time, it may also cause partial or complete adhesion of the fallopian tube lumen, which may cause ectopic pregnancy or infertility. For women, the harm is greater. Therefore, it is recommended that women choose a professional hospital as early as possible for thorough treatment.

2. The harm of adnexitis

Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. However, fallopian tube and oophoritis are often accompanied by parametrial connective tissue inflammation and pelvic peritonitis, and it is difficult to distinguish them during diagnosis. Therefore, pelvic peritonitis and parametrial connective tissue inflammation are also classified as adnexitis. Among pelvic organ inflammations, salpingitis is the most common. Due to the proximity of anatomical sites, salpingitis, oophoritis, and pelvic peritonitis often coexist and affect each other. If not treated in time, the following serious consequences may occur: 1) Fallopian tube atresia, leading to infertility, inducing inflammation and other complications; 2) The ovaries cannot perform normal physiological functions; 3) Adnexitis can not only cause female infertility and weaken and disappear secondary sexual characteristics, but can also directly cause endocrine disorders and lead to premature skin aging.

3. Treatment of adnexitis

Adnexitis can be divided into acute adnexitis and chronic adnexitis.

(1) Treatment of acute adnexitis

The most important thing is to use antibiotics in a timely and sufficient manner. During this period, it is best to use broad-spectrum antibiotics, because the appendages are separated from the stomach, and it is difficult to know what bacteria are infecting it. Therefore, the broader the spectrum of the antibiotics chosen, the easier it is to cover the bacteria. At this stage, a full course of treatment must be completed, generally 7 days, followed by a period of consolidation treatment. Acute adnexitis must not be allowed to turn into chronic, as this is not only difficult to treat, but can also easily lead to an acute attack of chronic adnexitis when one's resistance is reduced or the body is tired. Therefore, acute adnexitis must be treated promptly and in a standardized manner in the early stages of the disease to avoid future complications.

When acute adnexitis occurs, the frequency of sexual intercourse should be reduced. This will reduce the number of pathogens and the inflammation will heal faster.

(2) Treatment of chronic adnexitis

Chronic adnexitis is a disease suffered by quite a number of women. Generally, patients experience abdominal pain on one side and thickening of the adnexae. The symptoms occur when one is tired or before and after menstruation. The diagnosis based on these symptoms alone is actually a relatively rough one. But in fact, many diseases have similar symptoms and manifestations, such as endometriosis and pelvic venous congestion syndrome. The symptoms of these two diseases are very similar to those of chronic adnexitis. What are the treatment options for chronic adnexitis?

1) Chronic adnexitis is not effectively treated with antibiotics alone. It requires long-term supportive therapy, which means increasing nutrition and improving the body's immunity. The most important thing to increase the body's immunity is to exercise. On the one hand, it can improve the body's immunity, and on the other hand, it can also make the body and mind happy. If you are in a bad mood, many diseases will come to you. Chronic adnexitis is also a physical and mental disease to a large extent.

Chronic adnexitis will not have an immediate effect when treated with medication, but the symptoms will gradually ease. The main drugs used are some Chinese patent medicines, such as Fule Granules, Jingangteng Capsules, Fuyanning, Gongyanping, etc. When taking these medicines, be sure to continue taking them for at least one month. Do not stop taking the medicine just because you think your symptoms have improved, as this will cause them to recur soon.

2) It can be used in conjunction with physical therapy, which can dissipate local edema, soften scars, promote intestinal peristalsis, promote blood circulation, and greatly improve local lesions.

3) When treating adnexitis, you should also actively treat lower reproductive tract infections. Vaginitis and cervicitis may cause pathogens to ascend.

Therefore, women with adnexitis should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid lifelong harm.
