Thirty-eight weeks of pregnancy lower abdominal pain

When a pregnant woman reaches the 38th week of pregnancy, she may give birth at any time. Therefore, her family members should stay with her at all times. When the pregnant woman shows symptoms of giving birth, she should be sent to the hospital to wait for delivery. Under normal circumstances, when a pregnant woman is about to give birth, she will first feel pain in the lower abdomen. When this pain becomes a regular state, she will go to the hospital to wait for delivery.

Thirty-eight weeks of pregnancy lower abdominal pain

If you experience abdominal pain at 38 weeks of pregnancy, you should first consider the possibility of uterine contractions and pay attention to it. To avoid the possibility of premature birth, try to rest in bed. If the abdominal pain worsens, seek medical attention immediately and have an ultrasound to observe the development of the fetus and the thoroughness of the placenta and amniotic fluid, and then consider targeted treatment.

Symptoms of labor

easy

The expectant mother will feel much more relaxed in the upper abdomen, her breathing will be smoother than before, her appetite will be greatly increased, and her food intake will increase. But you may also feel a heaviness and a falling sensation in your lower abdomen, as if the fetus is about to fall out. At this time, it will take about 2 weeks to give birth. Expectant mothers do not need to be too nervous. Go and check the items in the delivery bag to see if there is anything missing!

Seeing red

When dark brown, pink or red bloody mucus appears in the vagina and the amount of bleeding is less than the menstrual volume, it is called bloody show. Seeing blood is a relatively reliable sign that labor is about to begin, and it usually occurs 24 hours before labor pains, but it varies from person to person. If the expectant mother only has a small amount of blood, there is no need to be too nervous. She can stay at home and observe for a while, but be careful to avoid strenuous exercise. But if the blood flowing out is fresh blood, exceeds the menstrual volume, or is accompanied by abdominal pain, you must go to the hospital immediately!

Uterine contractions

If an expectant mother feels her belly tightening, it may be irregular at first, but the phenomenon that becomes regular later is called uterine contraction. The interval between contractions in the early stage is about 10 minutes. Pregnant women will feel abdominal pain, and then the duration of the contractions will gradually extend to 40 seconds to 60 seconds. When regular contractions become about 3 to 5 minutes, you should go to the hospital immediately. Because childbirth consumes a lot of physical energy, it is recommended that expectant mothers eat some nutritious and easily digestible foods during the intervals between pains in order to store energy for childbirth.

Water breaking

When the amniotic membrane ruptures, the amniotic fluid will flow out through the vagina, and it will feel like a warm current coming out. This phenomenon is called "water breaking." The vast majority of expectant mothers rupture their membranes before or after the cervix is fully dilated, while a few rupture their membranes before the onset of labor. Therefore, water breaking in the late pregnancy means that labor is about to begin. After the water breaks, no matter what the occasion, the expectant mother should lie down immediately to prevent the amniotic fluid from flowing out. Otherwise, it is easy to cause fetal hypoxia. At the same time, call an ambulance as soon as possible. In addition, on the way to the hospital, also make sure that the expectant mother lies down flat!
