Genital warts are a contagious disease. Corresponding to this disease is another disease called pseudo-condyloma acuminatum. Many people may not have heard of the name of this disease. After contracting this disease, there will be relatively small caviar-like bumps on the patient's skin surface, and there will also be a relatively itchy feeling, but it will not be contagious, and the disease will not increase in number or size during its development. Will false sharpness increase? The development of pseudo-condyloma acuminatum has certain limitations and will not grow and increase indefinitely. Genital warts and pseudo-warts should be distinguished from each other. Difference 1 Pseudo-condyloma is a newly recognized disease in recent years. Pseudo-condylomata is more common in young women, and can occur in both unmarried and married women; the age of onset is mainly between 18 and 40 years old, and the incidence rate is 16% to 18%. The clinical manifestations are 1 to 2 mm papules, light red, clustered and not fused; smooth, roe-like or villous in shape, and granular to the touch; distributed on the inner side of the labia minora or the vestibule of the vagina. Generally there are no subjective symptoms or only mild itching, which can be easily confused with genital warts clinically. Genital warts mostly occur on the vulva, vagina, urethral orifice, cervix and perianal area. Initially they are small moist papules of light red or dirty gray color, which quickly form wart-like proliferations of varying sizes that may fuse and be shaped like cauliflower or cockscomb, sometimes with secretions and a foul odor. Difference 2 For clinical identification, you can use gauze or cotton swab dipped in 5% acetic acid solution to apply tightly to the affected area and observe after 2 to 5 minutes: if it is condyloma acuminatum, the local area will turn white, which is a positive reaction; pseudo-condyloma acuminatum is a negative reaction, that is, no color change. If there is local inflammation, it may be a false positive reaction and a pathological examination may be performed if necessary. Difference Three The cause of pseudocondyloma is still unknown, but it is generally believed to be a benign papilloma related to developmental abnormalities. Whether the occurrence of this disease is related to hormone levels in the body needs further study. Prevention of Genital Warts 1. Early detection and early treatment For friends who have been exposed to sexually transmitted diseases, they should always pay attention to any abnormal changes in their genitals. At the same time, they can undergo relevant examinations to enable early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment. II. Carry out publicity and education work This is also the responsibility of the whole society. The publicity and education work must be carried out in depth and popularized to all levels of society, especially young people, who must be paid more attention to. Both men and women must be made to understand the relevant knowledge of sexually transmitted diseases, the transmission routes and characteristics of sexually transmitted diseases, and the harm caused by sexually transmitted diseases to human physical and mental health. Through publicity, we can increase the public's awareness of sexually transmitted diseases, enhance people's sense of responsibility to their families and society, and strengthen people's self-protection awareness, so that everyone can keep themselves clean and reduce the chance of infection with sexually transmitted diseases such as genital warts. 3. Be strict with yourself and maintain an optimistic attitude Before the disease is cured, you must strictly control your desires and avoid sexual intercourse to avoid infecting others. Do not have sexual intercourse, do not bathe or swim in public baths (swimming pools), and do not misuse other people's belongings. Even if the damage of genital warts no longer exists after treatment, you should still insist on doing this for a considerable period of time, at least half a year. If there is no genital warts lesion, it is recommended to use condoms during sexual intercourse to reduce the chance of genital warts and HPV transmission. 4. Avoid unclean sexual behavior For friends whose sexual partners have genital warts, they should undergo relevant examinations to check for infection. Because the reinfection of most patients with genital warts is related to their sexual partners suffering from genital warts and HPV infection, sexual contact with them should be avoided to reduce the chance of reinfection after treatment. People should be made aware of the safety of casual sex and change their sexual behavior to reduce the risk of genital warts. |
