I just got pregnant and I didn't know I was drinking a lot of alcohol

For some female friends, they actually don’t know when implantation is successful and they have just entered pregnancy. So at this time, if you do not pay attention to your diet or lifestyle habits, it can easily lead to miscarriage. Some female friends have asked me this question: What should I do if I just got pregnant and don’t know how to drink a lot of alcohol? Pregnant mothers don’t need to worry, as long as there is no discomfort in the body, there is no big problem.

What to do if you drink alcohol during early pregnancy

If you conceive after drinking, it will still have an impact on the fetus. If you want to continue the pregnancy, it is recommended that you do a Down syndrome screening at 15-20 weeks of pregnancy to check the intellectual development of the fetus, and do a four-dimensional color ultrasound examination at 22-26 weeks of pregnancy to understand whether the fetus has gross malformations and the development of major organs.

After pregnancy, the food you eat every day, in addition to maintaining your own body metabolism and nutrients consumed, must also provide all the nutrients necessary for the growth and development of the fetus, and prepare to provide the baby with nutritious milk after delivery. Therefore, nutritional balance is closely related to eugenics.

During the first three months of pregnancy, the fetus grows slowly, gaining about 1 gram per day. Your food intake can be basically the same as before pregnancy. Because you often experience nausea, vomiting, and excessive stomach acid, you should pay attention to eating easily digestible, less greasy, and nutritious food.

During the 4th to 6th month of pregnancy, the fetus gains an average of about 10 grams per day, and after the 5th month of pregnancy, the fetal bone growth accelerates. Therefore, the need for various nutrients increases, and you should eat more nutritious foods, such as lean meat, eggs, soy products and various vegetables.

During the 7th to 9th month of pregnancy, the fetus grows fastest, so you should eat more foods rich in protein, minerals and vitamins, such as milk, soy products, fish, shrimp, kelp, green leafy vegetables and fruits. However, you should not consume too much high-calorie food to avoid becoming overweight. Weight gain should not exceed 0.4-0.5 kg/week.

Dietary considerations during early pregnancy

The time referred to as one month of pregnancy is counted from the first day of the last menstrual period. The first week is basically the menstrual period, and the second, third and fourth weeks may be the time when the expectant mother becomes pregnant.

Diet plan for one month of pregnancy: reduce artificial sweeteners and try to choose fresh, natural and green foods. Avoid eating foods containing food additives, pigments, and preservatives. For example, various pickled foods contain nitrosamines that can cause embryonic distortion and should be avoided.

Vegetables should be thoroughly washed and fruits should be peeled before eating to avoid pesticide contamination. Iron pots or stainless steel cookware should be used as much as possible in home cooking, and aluminum products and colored enamel products should be avoided to prevent aluminum and lead elements from damaging human cells.

Gradually stay away from caffeine (300 mg of caffeine per day can reduce the ability to conceive by 27%) and soda. Stop drinking and taking various stimulants. If you smoke, you should quit. The above substances and bad habits will be harmful to the unborn baby.

Although all nutritional needs can be met through a balanced diet, you should pay more attention if you have symptoms of anemia, have experienced dieting to lose weight, or have nutritional imbalances such as excessive fat accumulation in the body.
