Is ultrasound accurate in detecting pregnancy?

Nowadays, when you go to the hospital for a pregnant check-up, you need to do a B-ultrasound. Through the B-ultrasound, you can clearly see whether the fetus's height is developing well. However, people think that B-ultrasound has side effects and will cause harm to the fetus. In fact, you don’t need to worry too much about this. The radiation range of B-ultrasound examination will not cause any effect on the baby, so pregnant women should not reject B-ultrasound, it can help to better observe the fetus.

B-ultrasound gives clear precautions: whether the baby is pregnant, whether it is intrauterine or extrauterine, whether there is miscarriage and complications, etc. Through various practical experiences, it is found that a typical gestational sac indicates a high probability of early pregnancy, and what can confirm early pregnancy is the discovery of yolk sac and primitive heart beat. It should be noted that:

(1) A vaginal examination can be performed one week before an abdominal ultrasound examination.

(2) During early pregnancy scans, the intensity of the sound waves and the duration of the scan should be controlled, and the scan should be performed using the smallest radiation machine and in the shortest possible time.

(3) Ultrasound examination during early pregnancy is an important means and a special opportunity for prenatal diagnosis. Some structural malformations can be diagnosed around 10 weeks. Of course, if the B-ultrasound does not detect any deformity, it is not possible to draw a conclusion too early and timely examination is required.

The B-ultrasound currently used in clinical practice emits a sound intensity of less than 10 mW/cm2 from its probe, and the ultrasound examination usually takes only 5 to 10 minutes, with the detection time for each organ being even shorter. It can be said that the impact of B-ultrasound on the fetus is very small. Therefore, pregnant women should not have too much psychological pressure when doing B-ultrasound examination. Timely B-ultrasound examination is an important means to ensure the normal development of the fetus.

Based on the above situation, we can conclude that when using B-ultrasound to determine pregnancy, we must pay attention to safety issues. Mastering these basic knowledge can give our female friends who are about to become mothers more experience in giving birth to babies. At the same time, pregnant women must have good psychological qualities to face all difficulties and must be optimistic.
