What causes right nipple pain?

The breasts are a very private and very important part of a woman's body. The most important thing is that the breasts are very sensitive. There are many reasons that may lead to breast diseases, such as endocrine disorders, or being in a state of tension and anxiety, which can easily lead to breast problems. If women find pain in the right nipple, they should combine other symptoms to help determine the cause. The common reasons are listed below.

What causes right nipple pain?

The discomfort may be caused by diseases such as mastitis or breast hyperplasia. It is recommended to go to the breast department of the hospital for examination to clarify the condition and receive symptomatic treatment. Get enough rest, don't overwork, and keep warm.

Malignant tumor of the breast epithelial tissue. 99% occur in women and 1% in men. Breast cancer in situ is not fatal; however, cancer cells break off and the free cancer cells spread through the blood or lymph fluid, forming metastases, which are life-threatening.

Guidance:

Diagnosis: Check both breasts; combine with imaging examinations, such as mammography, color ultrasound, and breast magnetic resonance imaging when necessary.

The causes of nipple pain include breast hyperplasia, nipple fissures, and acute mastitis, but acute mastitis is more common during lactation. If you only have nipple pain but no lump, it is probably not breast cancer.

Guidance:

For treatment, it is recommended to do a breast color Doppler ultrasound. If it is breast hyperplasia, you can take some dispersing tablets or Chinese medicine for treatment. The possibility of breast hyperplasia is high.

For young women, if they are under too much stress, or have great mood swings, often stay up late, or are overworked, these may cause breast problems, which may be a manifestation of female breast hyperplasia. It is recommended to first do a breast ultrasound examination to rule out breast hyperplasia. In addition, you can do breast massage or local microwave therapy to relieve discomfort.

Breast development is painful, and premenstrual lumps and pain are the main clinical features of breast hyperplasia. You can do your own breast examinations on a regular basis.

The correct way to examine and touch the breasts is to stretch out your palms flat, put your four fingers together, and use the tip of your most sensitive index finger, middle finger, and ring finger to gently touch the upper outside, lower outside, lower inside, upper inside areas of the breast in order, and finally the nipple and areola area in the middle of the breast. Do not pinch the breast tissue with your fingers during the examination, otherwise you will mistake the pinched breast tissue for a lump.

Starting from a sitting position, any inverted nipple, skin depression, or unusual shape or structure is a clue to cancer deep in the breast. This can occur if the patient claps her hands above her head to contract her pectoral muscles. A sitting position allows for easier examination of the lymph nodes above and below the clavicle and under the arms. Finally, palpation should be performed while seated, using the fingers together to touch the area under the nipple.

Lie on your back to palpate a wider area. Place a pillow under the ipsilateral breast and raise the hand on the same side over the head to spread the breast evenly on the chest wall, making it easier for the fingers to touch deep-seated breast cancer. Use the palm of the index, middle, and ring finger rather than the fingertips for palpation. The palpation should be in a circular motion, rotating laterally from the nipple to the outside. It is especially important to examine the breast that extends into the armpit.
