The dominant follicle is a particularly important thing inside the female body, and it will be discharged by itself under certain circumstances. This situation requires certain conditions, but many people do not know what its specific conditions are. For example, the size of the follicle is one of these conditions. It also has some other requirements. So when is the dominant follicle discharged? When the follicle reaches 18-25mm in diameter, it will be discharged naturally. The size of the follicle when it is released depends on the individual. Some follicles are released when they grow to 15mm, while others need to grow to 25mm. Follicular development is a continuous process, and the normal follicle diameter should be between 18-25mm. The growth from primary follicle to mature follicle can be divided into 8 levels. It takes a total of 10 days from the 6th level follicle to the 8th level follicle, which is exactly the follicular phase in a menstrual cycle. Starting from 16mm, after another 2-3 days, it will develop into a 20mm follicle and then be discharged. The egg is released about 14 days before the next menstrual period. The day the egg is released is the ovulation day. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before ovulation, 4 days after ovulation, and the 10 days including the ovulation day the ovulation period. Women with irregular menstrual cycles cannot use this method to predict when the egg will be released, but they can see whether ovulation has occurred by measuring basal body temperature, observing cervical mucus, etc. During the ovulation period, the body will experience some subtle changes, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as slightly higher body temperature, lower abdominal pain, and breast tenderness. Feeling of discharge: Lower abdominal pain: When the egg is discharged, it needs to break through a thin membrane follicle that wraps the surface. A small amount of fluid in the follicle will flow into the lowest part of the pelvic cavity, causing a small amount of bleeding. At this time, you will feel pain in one side of the lower abdomen, which will be relieved after a few hours. Increased vaginal discharge: Vaginal discharge increases significantly and is watery, transparent and clear. Women will feel their vagina is wet and slippery, and when they wipe it with toilet paper, there will be egg white-like strips of mucus. Ovulation bleeding: After the follicle is discharged, the estrogen level drops sharply, causing local rupture and shedding of the endometrium, resulting in breakthrough bleeding. The amount of bleeding during ovulation is small and usually stops on its own within 2-3 days, and can last up to 7 days. Slightly higher body temperature: The body temperature is slightly higher when the egg is released, but the change is not obvious, generally fluctuating around 0.5 degrees Celsius. Breast tenderness: During ovulation, the estrogen level in the body increases, breast hyperplasia, and edema of interbreast tissue lead to breast tenderness. |
