Why do women's vulva develop acanthosis nigricans

The female private part is a very important part for women. It affects women's fertility and also affects some other things. The female private part includes the vulva. However, this part often has some problems. These problems can be big or small, but the more common one is that their vulva will develop acanthosis nigricans. So why does women's vulva develop acanthosis nigricans?

The cause of vulvar acanthosis nigricans is still unclear, but it may be caused by an enhanced stimulating factor at the cellular level acting on the receptors of keratinocytes and fibroblasts. Tumor products appear to be the cause of malignant acanthosis nigricans, but insulin resistance is considered to be the cause of most patients with acanthosis nigricans who do not have malignant tumors. Insulin binds to its classical receptor to produce biological effects. Its receptor is a glycoprotein encoded by a single gene and is located on the short arm of the 19th pair of chromosomes. On the cell membrane, insulin binds to its receptor to form a complex, causing the cytoplasm to dissolve. Later, this receptor can be reused or degraded in the lysosome.

Vulvar acanthosis nigricans is a rare vulvar skin disease that often occurs in the vulvar folds and is characterized by vulvar skin pigmentation, papilloma-like hyperplasia, hyperkeratosis, and symmetrical distribution. When this happens, the first thing to do is to confirm whether it is malignant. If it is not malignant, you can consider supplementing with fish oil to improve the disease. Topical application of retinoic acid preparations also has a certain effect. Apply moderate concentration keratolytic agents topically, such as 10% sulfur coal tar ointment.

Adjust the diet structure and reduce weight appropriately; actively treat medical diseases; if the disease is caused by drugs, remove the causative drugs; and do a good job of follow-up. If malignant acanthosis nigricans is suspected, early examination should be carried out and the malignant tumor should be removed as soon as possible; for obese acanthosis nigricans, skin lesions can be naturally relieved by dieting and correcting obesity; for symptomatic acanthosis nigricans, other diseases should be actively treated, such as hyperinsulinemia and excess androgenism; for drug-induced rash, the rash will subside after discontinuation of the causative drug.

Vulvar acanthosis nigricans is often a part of systemic or various parts of the body acanthosis nigricans, mainly in the groin, upper inner thigh, mons pubis, and labia majora where pigmentation spots and velvety thickening may occur. It may be accompanied by multiple skin tags. Generally, there is no discomfort. Patients with malignant acanthosis nigricans may experience itching. The progression and prognosis vary with each type.
