Vulvar itching caused by using sanitary pads

Vulvar itching caused by using sanitary pads

In life, there is no big problem for healthy women to use sanitary pads every day, but there are also some safety hazards. Because most sanitary pads have a layer of plastic on the bottom, which has poor air permeability, it is easy to cause moisture and sweating in the genitals, and allow pathogens to breed. If most users do not change sanitary pads as frequently as they do sanitary napkins, they usually only use one a day for more than 12 hours, which poses a great safety hazard.

Western medicine: Sanitary pads should not be used for a long time

There should not be any major problems for healthy women to use sanitary pads every day, but there are also hidden dangers: most pads have a layer of plastic at the bottom, which has poor air permeability and can easily cause moisture and sweating in the genitals, allowing pathogens to breed. Failure to replace sanitary pads for a long time will greatly increase local humidity and temperature, especially in hot and humid climates. This will not only create suitable conditions for the growth of bacteria and fungi, but also destroy the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina, reduce the local protective barrier function, and cause vaginitis, vulvar itching, etc. In addition, the friction of sanitary pads can easily cause damage to local skin or hair follicles, resulting in diseases such as vulvar folliculitis, so sanitary pads should not be used for a long time. The idea that using sanitary pads does not require local cleaning every day is even more wrong.

Some women use sanitary pads mainly to deal with excessive secretions and odor in the private parts. He suggested that if anyone has a similar situation, it means that they may have certain medical conditions and they should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

Western medicine advice:

1. People sweat easily in summer, so try not to use sanitary pads unless necessary.

2. Some sanitary pads with additives or fragrances may increase the probability of allergies for some people.

3. When using sanitary pads, be sure to replace them in time to avoid affecting the acid-base environment regulation of the female lower body.

TCM advice:

1. Sanitary pads should be replaced according to the working environment, nature, season, and physical condition: when the secretion is small, one pad a day is basically enough; when the weather is hot or the work is stressful and sweating occurs frequently, it should be replaced in time. In short, the female vulva should be kept clean, dry and breathable for a long time.

2. Nowadays, many people often wear tight-fitting nylon belly bands that are not very breathable in order to tighten their abdomens. At this time, it is best to use sanitary pads with caution to avoid aggravating the local airtightness.

First of all, it should be noted that masturbation itself does not necessarily cause perineal infection.

Possible causes of infection include:

No matter how you masturbate, if you only stimulate the clitoris, it generally won't cause infection.

If foreign objects are inserted into the vagina, it may cause infection. For example, another girl often inserts belts, pens, etc. into the vagina during masturbation. Due to the stimulation of these unclean objects or the abrasions they cause, infection may occur.

If you pay attention to hygiene, no matter what method you use to masturbate, it should not cause infection. On the contrary, if the hands or perineum are not clean, or if the masturbation action is too intense and causes injury, infection is inevitable. It can be seen that only unclean or inappropriate (method, time or intensity) masturbation can cause infection.

External factors:

1. Vulvar inflammation mainly occurs because the body's natural defense mechanism is damaged, such as trauma, abuse of some corrosive and inferior lubricants or aphrodisiacs on the market, foreign objects, rough sexual intercourse or masturbation, friction of vaginal diaphragms, synthetic underwear or menstrual pads, and other contraceptive tools.

2. Unclean sexual intercourse or contamination during vaginal operation, long-term vaginal bleeding or excessive leucorrhea, fear of sexually transmitted diseases or excessive douching due to the belief that the genitals are dirty. All of these can cause infection due to mechanical, chemical, bacterial imbalance factors and pathogenic microorganisms.

Physiological reasons:

Secondly, due to changes in the body's physiological condition, such as low, deficient or imbalanced sex hormones in infancy, menopause, menstruation, pregnancy and postpartum period, it is also easy to get infected. In addition, when the body suffers from certain diseases such as diabetes, it is particularly prone to this type of infection. The infected bacteria mostly come from the anus or unclean hands. For example, hands that have counted money are very dirty. Therefore, you must wash your hands carefully before going to the toilet, and wipe from front to back.

For patients themselves, in addition to symptoms such as vulvar itching, aggravation when walking, burning sensation, pain (stinging) and swelling and congestion, the main manifestation is the change of leucorrhea. So how can you judge whether leucorrhea is normal or not?

Normally, healthy women will have more or less leucorrhea, which is characterized by:

(1) During ovulation, the vaginal discharge is as transparent as egg white and can be pulled into very long threads;

(2) There may be a slight red color before and after menstruation.

(3) The amount of fluid in the second half of menstruation is small and the thread-drawing quality is poor. The amount of leucorrhea is more during adolescence, mid-menstruation, premenstruation, and pregnancy, but not much at other times.
