What to do if your private parts itch?

Dear female friends, regardless of age, you should pay attention to personal hygiene, especially the hygiene of the genitals. Because the female reproductive system is very complicated, if it is not cleaned in time or the underwear is not changed in time, the genitals will easily become infected or have some inflammation, which will cause genital itching. So what are the ways to solve this problem?

What to do if your private parts itch?

Under normal circumstances, there will be a small amount of milky white vaginal discharge. It is rare after menstruation. The discharge increases during ovulation and is thin, transparent, and stringy. It becomes sticky and turbid after ovulation.

The vagina itself has a self-cleaning function, with lactobacillus as the dominant bacteria, maintaining a normal acidic environment. It also produces anti-vitamin factors that can inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, thereby maintaining the balance of the vaginal microecology. Therefore, if the secretion is transiently yellow and there are no symptoms such as itching or discomfort, no treatment is required.

Do not use sanitary napkins, sanitary tampons, etc. when there is no vaginal bleeding. The popular trousers for various body types are not recommended because they have short crotches and poor breathability, which easily allow bacteria to multiply. Instead, we recommend using pure cotton shorts. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, use sterilized toilet paper and sanitary napkins correctly, wash and change underwear frequently, and dry underwear in the sun after washing. During menstruation, wash the vulva frequently with warm water and change sanitary napkins frequently to prevent blood stains from becoming a breeding ground for bacteria.

Usually wash the vulva with warm water. Do not use alkaline soap or chemical substances such as potassium permanganate when washing to avoid changing the normal acidic environment of the vagina. Prepare your own special washing basin, special cleaning utensils and towels. Wash cleaning utensils before use, and dry towels in the sun or in a ventilated place after use, preferably in the sun. After defecation, wipe clean from front to back with toilet paper to avoid feces contaminating the vagina and causing vaginal inflammation. It is best to develop the habit of washing or flushing the anus with warm water.

Trichomonas vaginitis: The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching and burning sensation. The secretion is thin, purulent, yellow-green, foamy, and has a foul odor. The itchy areas are mainly the vaginal opening and vulva. Because the urethra, paraurethral glands, and Bartholin's glands may be infected with Trichomonas at the same time, systemic medication is required to cure this disease. The main treatment drugs are metronidazole and tinidazole. Because it is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, sexual partners should be treated at the same time.

Candidal vaginitis: The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge and severe itching of the vulva. The typical vaginal discharge is white, thick, and resembling tofu dregs or curd. The treatment method is to eliminate the predisposing cause first, and then apply antifungal drugs locally or systemically according to the situation. Routine treatment of sex partners is not necessary.

Bacterial vaginosis: The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor. The leucorrhea is often white, relatively thin, and has low viscosity, and sometimes foam can be seen. The principle of treatment is to use anti-anaerobic drugs, mainly metronidazole, tinidazole, and clindamycin.

It is best to use drugs for vaginal inflammation according to the course of treatment and in sufficient doses. Because it is easy to relapse due to the influence of menstruation or sexual life, it is best to check for recurrence after the next menstruation after treatment. Consolidate treatment when necessary. Pay attention to strengthening physical exercise and sexual hygiene. When your sexual partner suffers from genital tract inflammation, try to avoid sexual intercourse or use condoms to isolate to prevent infection.

Long-term use of antibiotics or hormones can cause imbalance of the body's flora and lead to candidal vaginitis, so they should not be used blindly or without indication.

Treatment of pregnant women with vaginitis: It is often associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes (such as premature rupture of membranes, premature uterine contractions, premature birth, postpartum endometritis, neonatal respiratory and reproductive tract infections, etc.). Any symptomatic vaginitis requires treatment. Pregnant women have relatively reduced systemic immunity and are most susceptible to candidal vaginitis. Clotrimazole vaginal tablets can be used. Commonly used drugs for Trichomonas vaginitis and bacterial vaginosis are metronidazole or clindamycin.
