Steps for IVF with adenomyosis

Current medical knowledge has taught patients that they will generally feel depressed after they have adenomyosis. In addition to making patients suffer from a long-term fate worse than death and seriously affecting their work and life, this disease is not easy to treat and is more likely to lead to infertility. However, with the development of science and technology, the technology of in vitro fertilization has become very mature. Data show that the natural pregnancy rate of adenomyosis patients is about 10%, and the IVF pregnancy rate is 30-40%. Therefore, there are many adenomyosis patients who need IVF. Let us use a case to let everyone understand the steps of IVF for adenomyosis.

I have had endometriosis for 6 years. First, I had uterine fibroids (as big as eggs) and bilateral ovarian cysts. I had an open abdominal surgery in 2010, and then the adenomyosis recurred. From 2010 to 2014, I kept trying to treat the adenomyosis, but it kept getting bigger, until my uterus grew to 8CM-9CM. Looking back, I am already 35 years old and have never been pregnant. From the age of 28 to 35, the most prime years of my life, endometriosis has been plaguing me. I only received treatment for it, so I have come to the conclusion that endometriosis is very prone to recurrence and cannot be cured. When I tried both Chinese and Western medicine, I found that they were not curable and my condition was getting worse. So I met a doctor who told me to try IVF. The second experience I learned is that endometriosis does not conflict with having children. You don’t have to cure the endometriosis before having a baby. (God knows why I had the weird logic that I had to cure the disease before I could have a baby. At this point, the money I spent on the treatment was enough for two IVF cycles, and the most important thing was that it delayed a woman’s most precious years.) When I found a reproductive doctor, my disease was already very serious, and my uterus had grown as big as if I was three months pregnant. We can only try our best to save the situation. Upon examination, it was found that the ovarian function was declining, a sequela of bilateral ovarian cystectomy. Only one ovary was ovulating, and it was declining like that of a 40-year-old woman. So, experience four, don’t move your ovaries easily. After the operation, your ovarian function will usually decline.

The doctor told me that I have few eggs. The first time I retrieved eggs, I used the minimal stimulation protocol and got one egg. However, due to poor egg quality, multiple sperm entered and the fertilization failed. I took a month's rest. This time I took a super short plan and used a lot of medicine, which caused my eggs to be released early. Failed, not a single fertilized egg was obtained. The third time, the antagonist protocol, 5 eggs were retrieved and 2 were matched. Therefore, sisters who have endometriosis and poor ovarian function can use antagonist therapy.

There was a fertilized egg, and the doctor asked me to have a hysteroscopy. In the gynecology inpatient department, the surgeon told me that my uterus was already as big as a 4-month pregnancy and was very hard. I was so scared. I really didn't know the condition had become so serious. It's like giving up all hope and giving up on treatment. No matter what happens, nothing matters. After the hysteroscopy, I went to see the doctor for transplantation the next month. The doctor took a look and said that I had a natural egg and it was growing well. Should I take it out? Does not affect transplantation. I just took it by hand, and it paired successfully. (Surprise, the first time was unsuccessful. In order not to let me waste eggs, the doctor used second-generation artificial sperm insemination for the third time. So, natural pairing was not easy for me.) Fortunately, it developed into a six-cell embryo. During the transplant, because my uterus was large and hard, I requested to transplant one egg (I am 36 and can transplant three eggs) because I was afraid of having multiple pregnancies. *^_^* In order to save embryos, there are only 3 in total. So, with the attitude of giving it a try, I had my first transplant. During the period, I felt that I was not pregnant. Today, on the 13th day after the transplant, I thought it was unnecessary to verify that I was not pregnant, but I did not expect to see 2 lines.

Life is so wonderful. A gynecologist once diagnosed that the chances of conceiving a baby through IVF were extremely low. The embryos I transplanted were extremely fragmented and of poor quality. I was also old, over 35, and only one was transplanted. But she got pregnant. It is so willful. Life is so wonderful. Despite so many unfavorable factors, my baby is still so tenacious. Spread positive energy and good luck in pregnancy. I'm going to the hospital for a blood test tomorrow. I hope my luck continues to improve and I can safely get through the 3 months of pregnancy.
