What to eat to stop menstrual bleeding

The amount of menstrual blood is different for every woman. Some women have a very heavy bleeding during their period, and the reasons for excessive menstrual bleeding are often complicated. In such cases, the main thing to do is to regulate the body. Excessive menstrual bleeding can also affect people's lives. Many women also hope to stop bleeding through diet. So what can you eat to stop menstrual bleeding?

1. Duration of menstruation

Normal menstrual bleeding usually lasts for 3 to 7 days. If it lasts more than 10 days, it is considered prolonged. Excessive menstrual bleeding can be caused by many reasons, the most common of which are fatigue during menstruation, cold, endocrine disorders, IUD insertion, gynecological inflammation, uterine fibroids, blood diseases, liver or kidney diseases, endometrial abnormalities, etc. After the bleeding stops, six sex hormone tests and B-ultrasound should be performed to find out the cause and then provide symptomatic treatment. Use hemostatic drugs when necessary. Pay attention to keeping warm and resting during menstruation. You can consider taking Wu Ji Bai Feng Wan for conditioning and Fu Xue Kang to stop bleeding.

2. Menstrual volume

The normal menstrual blood volume for women is generally 50-80ml, with the heaviest bleeding occurring on the 2nd to 3rd day of menstruation. If the daily blood loss is more than 80ml, or the menstrual volume is significantly increased compared to the past, and the menstrual cycle is basically normal, it is called heavy menstruation. Based on the rough estimate of sanitary napkin usage, the normal usage is to change it four or five times a day on average, with no more than two packs (10 pieces per pack) per cycle. If 3 packs of sanitary napkins are not enough and almost every sanitary napkin is soaked, it means that the menstrual flow is too heavy.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that heavy menstrual flow is related to qi deficiency, blood heat and internal blood stasis. The main treatment is to stop bleeding, with the aim of reducing blood volume and preventing blood loss and damage to the yin. In normal times, it is advisable to calm and strengthen the Chong meridians to treat the root cause. For patients with blood stasis, the focus is on removing blood stasis and stopping bleeding. It is advisable to use warm and dry products that do not stay in the body with caution, so as to avoid stirring and wasting blood.
