Can cervical disease cause infertility?

Will cervical disease cause infertility? If cervical disease is severe, it can cause infertility. There are many types of cervical diseases, such as some common and high-incidence cervical erosion, cervicitis, polyps, myomas, etc., which all bring great harm to women. The main consequence of these diseases is abnormal and sticky leucorrhea, which blocks the combination of sperm and egg. Pregnancy is possible after treatment.

Cervical disease can cause infertility:

1. Abnormal cervical mucus: Cervical mucus is very important and has a great impact on the survival and motility of sperm. Ovarian hormones regulate the secretion of cervical mucus. When cervical mucus becomes abnormal, it is likely to cause female infertility.

2. Cervical fibroids: Cervical fibroids are the most common gynecological tumor in women. The most common symptoms are increased vaginal discharge and increased menstrual blood volume, while some patients are asymptomatic. Regular gynecological examinations can help detect cervical fibroids in the early stages.

3. Cervical dysplasia: Most women with cervical dysplasia also have uterine dysplasia. Cervical dysplasia can lead to insufficient secretory function of cervical glands. This leads to female infertility.

4. Abnormal position of the cervical canal: Abnormally long cervical canal is accompanied by abnormal position of the uterus. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis can lead to abnormal position of the uterus, hindering the upward movement of sperm and causing infertility.

5. Chronic cervicitis: Cervicitis is a common disease among women. Generally, cervicitis will not affect conception, but when the cervix has varying degrees of erosion, hypertrophy, and sometimes hardening, and when polyps, lacerations, eversions, glandular cysts and other lesions are present, attention should be paid.
