How to use ovulation test strips? These skills must be mastered

In order to figure out their ovulation situation, women will use ovulation test strips, which is like testing for pregnancy. The use of ovulation test strips is actually very simple, but if you want to measure more accurately, you need to know some skills.

1. Some friends think that ovulation test strips are used during the ovulation period. In fact, this is wrong. Ovulation test strips are not used during the ovulation period, but before the ovulation period arrives. The ultimate purpose of using ovulation test strips is to detect when ovulation occurs. Under normal circumstances, a woman ovulates about 14 days before the start of the next menstruation. However, due to external and internal factors, the human body may not ovulate at a fixed time, and may ovulate earlier or later. Therefore, ovulation should be tested a few days in advance, usually starting 17 or 18 days before the next menstruation, and testing once a day with ovulation test strips.

2. The instructions for use of different ovulation test strips may be slightly different, but generally you should try to collect urine between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. being the best time. You can try to collect your urine at the same time every day, but this is not absolutely necessary. But don't test your urine right after waking up in the morning because you may miss the first day of your LH surge.

3. In addition, because the LH hormone is changing, the time when it reaches its peak is not fixed. Therefore, when the test is weak positive and close to positive, if you test it once a day, you may miss the peak time and don’t know the time of ovulation. Therefore, it is best to test it twice a day (once every 6 hours or so). To sum up: ovulation testing should start 17 or 8 days before the next menstruation, and should be continued until ovulation is confirmed. When the test result is weak positive to positive, test twice a day.
