Pregnant women should pay attention to the time of foot soaking

We all know that foot soaking is very helpful for life, it can promote blood circulation, relieve fatigue and so on. However, for pregnant women, they must understand the relevant precautions when soaking their feet, so that the effect of foot soaking can be better played and it will not cause harm to the baby. So what are the precautions for pregnant women to soak their feet?

1. The time should not be too long, it is best to control it within 15-20 minutes. If the time is too long, the local blood circulation in the feet will be too fast for a long time, and more blood in the body will flow to the lower limbs, which will cause cardiovascular overload. Moreover, the winter climate is dry. Soaking the skin in hot water for too long will cause the skin to become too dry and prone to pruritus. Therefore, no matter what age group you are in when soaking your feet, it is best to use certain moisturizing products after soaking your feet to keep the skin hydrated.

2. The water temperature cannot be too high. Many people think that as long as the water temperature is within their tolerance range, the higher the better. In fact, this is not the case. The best water temperature for foot soaking is below 50℃, which should be hot but not scalding. Do not use your hands to measure the water temperature, it is best to feel it with your feet. If the water temperature is too high, the blood vessels in the feet are prone to excessive dilation, and more blood in the body will flow to the lower limbs, which can easily cause insufficient blood supply to important organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys, which is not good for the body.

3. It is not advisable to soak your feet within half an hour after a meal , as it will affect the blood supply to the stomach and will cause malnutrition in the long run.

4. Don’t go to bed immediately after soaking your feet. Rub the soles of your feet while they are still hot, put on socks to keep warm in time, and it is best to go to bed after the temperature of your whole body slowly decreases.

5. It is best to use a deep wooden bucket or enamel basin with a large bottom area for foot soaking , so that your feet can be placed flat and comfortably, and it is best to let the water soak all the way to your calves. The water temperature is more suitable at around 40 degrees Celsius, and hot water should be added at any time to maintain the temperature uniform.
