What are the symptoms of high progesterone?

What are the symptoms of high progesterone?

The level of progesterone is closely related to one's own personal factors. Low or high progesterone can be slightly adjusted. However, excessive progesterone levels may affect fertility. The symptoms of high progesterone are not very obvious and there are no special symptoms. Therefore, be especially careful about high progesterone levels caused by hydatidiform mole.

1. What are the symptoms of high progesterone in pregnant women?

There are no special symptoms for high progesterone levels in pregnant women, but if the high progesterone level is caused by hydatidiform mole, symptoms such as vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain may occur. At this time, expectant mothers should go to the hospital in time for blood HCG measurement and B-ultrasound examination to clarify the cause of high progesterone and then carry out symptomatic treatment.

2. Clinical manifestations of hydatidiform mole:

① Vaginal bleeding. Pregnant women with hydatidiform mole will experience irregular vaginal bleeding 2 to 4 months into pregnancy. The amount is small at first and can easily be misdiagnosed as threatened abortion. After that, the number of bleeding will gradually increase, and heavy bleeding will often occur repeatedly. Sometimes blister-like tissue can be discharged naturally. Severe cases can lead to shock or even death.

②Abdominal pain. As the molar pregnancy grows, it can cause lower abdominal pain. When the molar pregnancy is expelled, the uterus will contract and there will be paroxysmal pain in the lower abdomen.

Hydatidiform mole can usually be detected by B-ultrasound at 7-8 weeks of pregnancy. If the pregnant woman is carrying a normal fetus, she should undergo a uterine curettage as soon as possible.

3. Pay attention to high progesterone

High progesterone during pregnancy is mainly caused by diseases, common diseases include lipid-containing ovarian tumors, corpus luteum cysts, hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma. In addition, endocrine disorders in pregnant women can also lead to increased progesterone levels. High progesterone levels during pregnancy generally do not affect the health of the fetus, but if the progesterone level is too high, you should be careful as it may cause deformities in the fetus' spine, anus, limbs and other parts. Therefore, pregnant mothers should continue to pay attention to progesterone levels and detect abnormalities early.
