How to treat pelvic mass? Is surgery the best solution?

When a woman develops a mass in her pelvis, the first thing she thinks of is surgery. Surgery can indeed produce results, but the risks involved are too great. General treatment, drug therapy, diet therapy, etc. are all good and can produce good therapeutic results.

1. General treatment

Patients with pelvic masses should pay attention to bed rest in a semi-recumbent position. Eat nutritious and easily digestible food, and avoid spicy food such as chili peppers, peppercorns, raw onions, raw garlic, and white wine. Patients with anemia should receive a small amount of blood transfusion. Give analgesics when pain is severe.

2. Drug treatment

A pelvic mass may be caused by pelvic inflammation or growth. Clarify the nature of the lump. If it is caused by inflammation, anti-infection treatment should be given. Take antibiotics under the guidance of a doctor. Repeat the B-ultrasound after 7 days to check whether the lump has shrunk. If it has not shrunk and inflammation is ruled out, surgical treatment can be considered.

3. Surgical treatment

It is necessary to distinguish whether the pelvic mass is an inflammatory mass or other tumor, as well as its growth site, whether it is in the ovary, uterus or other place. If it is an ovarian cyst or uterine fibroid that is larger than 5cm, surgery is necessary. In addition, surgical treatment can also be used if drug treatment fails.
