The big white legs and long boots are so beautiful! But it is more likely to cause a disease

As the weather turns cooler, many women start wearing beautiful boots, which are both warm and good-looking. However, did you know that wearing boots for a long time can easily cause "ankle tunnel syndrome"?

Beware of "boot disease" if your boots are too high or too tight

The feet are called the "second heart" of the human body and play an important role in blood circulation throughout the body. If the boot shaft is too high and the foot is wrapped too tightly, the blood vessels and nerves at the instep and ankle joint will be squeezed, causing poor blood circulation. If this continues for a long time, the tendon sheath or nerves of the foot will easily become inflamed, causing numbness and pain, commonly known as "boot disease." Doctors say this disease is medically called "ankle tunnel syndrome."

"Anal tunnel syndrome" means that there is an important nerve in the ankle joint, called the posterior tibial nerve behind the ankle joint. When this nerve is compressed, numbness and movement disorders in the area innervated by the nerve occur.

Doctors warn that if you develop symptoms due to wearing boots, you should never take it lightly. At the beginning of the disease, the symptoms will recover on their own within 1 to 2 weeks after taking off the boots. If the symptoms persist, it is recommended that you seek medical attention promptly. You can also relieve the symptoms through hot compresses, physical therapy, etc. Soreness, swelling, numbness, electric shock sensation in the feet

Ms. Hu is 50 years old. Not long ago, she felt some discomfort in her left foot. She thought it would get better after two days of rest, but three months later, the symptoms not only did not disappear but became worse. Not to mention walking, even the slightest touch to her feet would cause her unbearable pain.

I feel the pain is like an electric shock, like being pricked by needles, it is irregular, it feels swollen, sore, numb, and sometimes like ants crawling on me.

After examination by a doctor, it was found that Ms. Hu was suffering from "tarsal tunnel syndrome". The doctor said that clinically, tarsal tunnel syndrome is more common in young and middle-aged people and those engaged in heavy physical labor or long-distance runners. Due to excessive exercise, tendon sliding increases and friction increases, which can cause a series of symptoms such as tenosynovitis, tendon sheath congestion and edema, all of which will compress the tibial nerve and cause nerve dysfunction. To prevent "tarsal tunnel syndrome", you need to pay attention to these

1. When buying shoes, choose soft, breathable, all-leather shoes according to your foot shape; the toe and shoe shape should not be too narrow, the boot shaft should be large enough to fit your index finger, the heel height should be below 4 cm and not more than 6 cm. It is best to change into a pair of comfortable flat shoes when working. When choosing boots, you should not only consider the style but also the comfort. Do not wear boots that are too high or too tight for a long time.

2. Friends who exercise regularly should pay more attention to changes in the ankle joint before and after exercise. If you feel any abnormal symptoms, you should pay attention to rest more.

3. If you feel numbness, soreness, pain and other symptoms in your ankle joint, you should pay more attention to rest, wear shoes with loose uppers around your ankle joint, avoid spraining your ankle when walking, and avoid catching a cold. If the symptoms are severe or do not improve, go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. 4. Developing a good habit of soaking your feet in hot water every night is not only a good way to relieve fatigue in your feet and legs, but also a good way to promote blood circulation throughout the body. The water temperature can be slightly higher, and it is best to make the body slightly warm, but be careful not to get burned.

Causes of tarsal tunnel syndrome include:

1. Trauma

It is the most common and definite cause of tarsal tunnel syndrome. Hindfoot fractures reduce the space within the ankle tunnel. In addition, traumatic tenosynovitis of the flexor tendons can also reduce the space in the ankle tunnel.

2. Space-occupying lesions

These diseases can cause increased pressure in the ankle canal, such as ganglion cysts, lipomas, schwannomas, varicose veins, accessory muscles, and proliferative synovitis.

3. Changes in bone structure

Talocalcaneal joint, enlarged or dislocated triangular bone.

4. Flexor retinaculum

Overlies the ankle tunnel and may impinge on the tibial nerve.

5. Hindfoot deformity

It has been demonstrated that calcaneal valgus combined with forefoot abduction increases pressure on the tibial nerve. Calcaneal inversion combined with forefoot pronation can lead to shortening of the abductor hallucis, which may increase the diameter of the muscle and thus reduce the space in the distal tarsal tunnel.
