Symptoms of hypoxia at 36 weeks of pregnancy

Symptoms of hypoxia at 36 weeks of pregnancy

During pregnancy, pregnant women worry about the baby's condition every day. Hypoxia is a common one. Hypoxia is very harmful to the baby in the belly. Lack of sufficient CO2 will cause the fetus to die in the womb, which is very painful for mothers. It will cast a long-term shadow on the psychological and physiological aspects, and will also affect future pregnancies. So what are the manifestations of fetal hypoxia at 36 weeks of pregnancy?

Symptoms of fetal hypoxia at 36 weeks of pregnancy

1. Sudden changes in baby's fetal movements

Starting from the 18th week of pregnancy, pregnant women can feel the baby's fetal movement, but the location, time and frequency of the baby's fetal movement vary from person to person. Some pregnant women only begin to feel the baby's movement in the 20th week of pregnancy. If a "cheerful" baby suddenly becomes very quiet, or the baby's fetal movement is very slow, this is a sign of fetal intrauterine hypoxia. On the other hand, if the originally "quiet" baby suddenly becomes restless, and the frequency and amplitude of the baby's fetal movement increase, this may also be a sign of fetal intrauterine hypoxia, which also requires pregnant mothers to pay attention to.

Generally speaking, if the frequency of fetal movement is less than 10 times/12 hours, or higher than 40 times/12 hours, pregnant mothers need to be vigilant, as it may be a "distress signal" sent by the fetus due to intrauterine hypoxia.

2. Abnormal fetal heartbeat

Under normal circumstances, the fetal heartbeat is 120 beats/minute to 160 beats/minute. When the fetal movement occurs, it can exceed this range. After the fetal movement stops, the fetal heartbeat will return to the normal range. Pregnant mothers can use a fetal heart monitor at home to check the fetal heartbeat. When the fetus is calm, if the fetal heartbeat is lower than or exceeds the normal range, it may be a signal of insufficient fetal oxygen.

3. Growth and development are hindered

The growth and development of the fetus can be known by the height of the uterine fundus. The height of the uterine fundus refers to the distance from the top of the ischial tuberosity to the highest point of the uterine fundus. Under normal circumstances, the height of the uterine fundus should increase by about 1 cm per week after 28 weeks of pregnancy. If there is no increase for two consecutive weeks, it means that the growth and development of the fetus is hindered, which may be caused by lack of oxygen. Pregnant mothers should go to the hospital immediately for medical treatment.

Causes of fetal intrauterine hypoxia at 36 weeks of pregnancy

1. Pregnant mother factors

The key reason is the insufficient oxygen content in the pregnant mother's blood. When there is a slight lack of oxygen, the pregnant mother usually has no obvious symptoms, but it will affect the fetus. The factors that cause fetal intrauterine hypoxia in pregnant women are:

(1) Insufficient blood supply to the microaorta, such as hypertension, chronic nephritis and hypertension during pregnancy.

(2) Insufficient oxygen concentration in blood cells, such as severe anemia, heart failure and cor pulmonale.

(3) Subacute excessive blood loss such as prenatal exudative diseases and trauma.

(4) Obstruction of uterine embryo blood circulation, resulting in premature labor or inflexible contraction of the uterus; improper use of oxytocin, resulting in excessive uterine contractions; prolonged labor, especially the second stage of labor; excessive uterine swelling, such as polyhydramnios and multiple pregnancy; placental abruption, possible stress on the fetal umbilical cord, etc.

When the fetus is in the mother's womb, it lives in an environment full of changes every day. If the mother's body is abnormal, it will also cause abnormalities in the baby. Mothers should first maintain physical and mental health, go to the hospital for physical examinations regularly, keep good records of the baby's examinations, and carefully observe the baby's every move. It is a difficult process and requires the father's support!
