Women who are ovulating are most likely to be jealous of other women. British researchers showed participants 35 photos of women's faces. The photos show the person wearing uniform black work clothes without any decorations. Afterwards, the researchers asked the participants to rate the attractiveness of the women's photos on a 7-point scale.

0 is "least attractive" and 7 is "most attractive". The results showed that women gave significantly lower scores to the attractiveness of other women during the 12th to 21st day of their menstrual period (the ovulation period when pregnancy is most likely to occur). However, this "wave of jealousy" will gradually subside with the end of a woman's ovulation period, and her evaluation of other women will then turn positive.
