What is the cause of small fleshy bumps on the vulva?

For female friends, due to the special structure of their reproductive organs, they are more likely to suffer from various gynecological problems, the most common of which are increased vaginal discharge and itching in the lower body. Many female friends also reported that after feeling discomfort in the lower body, they can clearly touch many small fleshy bumps on the vulva. In such cases, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time to find out the cause. Let us now understand what diseases may cause the small fleshy bumps on the vulva.

1. Vaginitis

10% to 40% of patients have no clinical symptoms. Those with symptoms mainly present with increased vaginal discharge with a fishy odor, which is especially aggravated after sexual intercourse, and may be accompanied by mild vulvar itching or burning sensation. The vulva may develop bumps due to irritation from excessive secretions. Examination showed no signs of congestion or inflammation in the vaginal mucosa. The secretions were grayish white, uniform, thin, and adhered to the vaginal wall for a long time, and could be easily wiped off the vaginal wall.

2. Folliculitis

It initially appears as a red, solid papule consistent with the opening of the hair follicle, or it starts with follicular impetigo, and then rapidly develops into a papule-pustule, with the hair running through the middle and redness and inflammation all around, followed by drying and scabbing. It heals after about a week when the scab falls off, but there are also cases of recurrence and no healing for years.

3. Genital warts

The lesions initially appear as small, light red papules, which gradually increase in size and number, and are distributed singly or in clusters. They are moist and soft, with an uneven surface and appear as nipple-like, cockscomb-like, or cauliflower-like protrusions. Red or dirty grey. The roots often have pedicles and are prone to erosion and exudation, and bleed easily when touched. Purulent secretions often accumulate between the cracks of the skin lesions, causing a foul odor, and secondary infection may occur due to scratching.

Through understanding, we can find that small fleshy bumps on the vulva may be caused by the three diseases introduced above, so professional examination is needed to find out the cause and facilitate symptomatic treatment. After figuring out how to treat the disease, female friends should pay more attention to the cleanliness of the vulva. In addition, no matter what disease causes it, sexual intercourse should be prohibited during treatment.
