How to take care of your oral cavity during pregnancy

After pregnancy, it is easy to get various oral diseases, such as angular cheilitis, oral ulcers, tooth decay, gingivitis, etc. In fact, these oral diseases are closely related to lifestyle habits. If you take good care of your oral cavity after pregnancy, these oral diseases can be completely avoided. Here are some common oral care methods after pregnancy, I hope it will be helpful to expectant mothers.

You must brush your teeth once in the morning and once in the evening. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash immediately after meals. When brushing your teeth, you can choose toothpaste according to your own situation. During pregnancy, go to the dentist for regular check-ups and have your teeth cleaned thoroughly. If your teeth have caries, gingivitis, or periodontitis, you should seek treatment as soon as possible.

If you suffer from stomatitis or angular cheilitis, you should take adequate vitamin B2. If you have bleeding gums, eat more foods rich in vitamin C. When tooth extraction is necessary, it must be done after three months of pregnancy and before seven months of pregnancy. Because tooth extraction in the first three months of pregnancy can easily induce miscarriage and aggravate morning sickness; and after seven months of pregnancy, it is inconvenient for the mother to cooperate with the doctor due to her heavy body, and it may also induce premature birth.

Do not take dental X-rays unless it is necessary for treatment. If the scan is necessary, a "lead rubber apron" should be worn around the abdomen to prevent radiation from harming the pregnant woman and fetus.

You can do the up and down teeth clicking exercise at ordinary times. This not only enhances the strength of teeth, but also increases the secretion of oral saliva. The lysozyme in the saliva has bactericidal and tooth-cleaning effects.

Some women may have some superstitious ideas after they become pregnant, believing that they cannot touch cold water after pregnancy, so they even stop brushing their teeth. This practice is extremely wrong. If you are afraid of cold water, you can brush your teeth with warm water. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day can effectively prevent various oral problems. After pregnancy, you should have a comprehensive oral examination at least once to rule out the possibility of oral diseases.
