How to treat urinary tract infection in women

Clinically, we usually treat female urinary tract infections with oral broad-spectrum antibiotics, because urinary tract infections are generally caused by bacterial proliferation, which is clinically stubborn and persistent, and also has recurrent symptoms. Although Western medicine works quickly, its side effects are relatively strong and it can also affect the health of the gastric mucosa, so we still do not recommend long-term use.

In daily life, female patients with urinary tract infection can be given nutritious liquid or semi-liquid food; those with high fever and obvious gastrointestinal symptoms should be given intravenous fluids to ensure sufficient calories.

Increase the amount of water you drink to ensure fluid balance and sufficient urine output. The daily urine output should be above 1500mL. If necessary, intravenous infusion should be given to replenish water. More fluid intake and more urination can flush the urinary tract, accelerate the excretion of bacteria and inflammatory secretions, and reduce the hyperosmotic state of the renal medulla and papilla, which is not conducive to the growth and reproduction of bacteria.

Pay attention to rest during your recovery period. During the acute infection period, the patient may have obvious urinary tract irritation symptoms or fever and should rest in bed. He or she can get out of bed and move around after the body temperature returns to normal. Chronic patients should also rest appropriately according to their condition to prevent reinfection due to low immunity caused by excessive fatigue. Symptomatic treatment, after selecting appropriate antibacterial drugs, symptomatic treatment is given for high fever, headache, low back pain, constipation and other symptoms, such as giving heat-clearing and analgesic drugs, laxatives and laxatives.

If female urinary tract infection is not treated in time, the bacteria will slowly enter the upper organs through your vagina, and may even cause diseases of other organs such as pyelonephritis. For some patients with recurrent illnesses, they should go to the hospital to check the body's resistance and hormone secretion. Pay attention to drinking more water, urinating frequently, paying attention to rest, increasing nutrition, exercising properly, and improving the body's immune function, which are all very effective in treating female urinary tract infections.
