What to do if the vaginal episiotomy wound becomes suppurative

Among women who give birth naturally, many have experienced episiotomy. That's because the fetus is relatively large, and doctors are afraid that it will affect the smooth delivery process or cause vaginal tearing in the mother, so they will perform an episiotomy to assist in delivery. So, after giving birth, there will be a wound left. What if the wound is not properly cared for and becomes festered?

1. First moisten the wound with a saline cotton ball or gauze, and then clean the wound with a saline cotton ball;

2. If there is necrotic tissue, use sterile tissue scissors to cut away the necrotic tissue;

3. Apply iodine to the cleaned (treated) wound surface and wait for it to dry;

4. If there is a water-like ripple feeling inside the wound, it means that the suppuration is quite serious and you need to go to the hospital to cut open the wound, drain the pus and then suture it.

5. The above procedures can be performed twice a day, once a day or once every two days depending on the condition of the wound. Since all materials must be sterilized and the injured have not received professional training, it is recommended to go to the hospital's outpatient department for treatment.

After all, these parts are relatively sensitive and fragile, so more attention should be paid to its disinfection and subsequent care and health care. You can usually use a small clean towel to soak it, wring it dry and place it on the wound. Also, pay attention to actively clean the vulva and wounds, so as to reduce vaginitis or vulvar wound edema.
