What are the symptoms of mild cervicitis?

Mild cervicitis is a disease that women are prone to, but most women have not undergone gynecological examinations, which causes the disease to be hidden in the body, but it appears as suspected symptoms. Patients can discover abnormalities in the disease according to the type of disease. The symptoms of acute onset of the disease are fast, which is convenient for patients to diagnose. Chronic diseases are more difficult, and the symptoms of multiple diseases can be confusing. So what are the symptoms of mild cervicitis?

Cervicitis is clinically divided into acute and chronic types, with chronic cervicitis being the most common. Acute cervicitis is mostly caused by childbirth, abortion or surgery that damages the cervix, which allows pathogens to invade and cause infection. The clinical manifestations are increased leucorrhea, which is often purulent, accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, bladder irritation, fever, etc. Gynecological examination revealed cervical congestion and edema, purulent secretions flowing from the cervical os, endocervical ectropion, and tenderness. In severe cases, tissue necrosis and ulceration may occur. The clinical manifestations of chronic cervicitis are increased vaginal discharge, which is milky white mucus or light yellow pus. There may be bloody vaginal discharge or bleeding after sexual intercourse. If the inflammation spreads to the pelvic connective tissue, it can cause pain in the waist and sacral region, a feeling of heaviness, and dysmenorrhea. Patients with chronic cervicitis need to undergo a cervical scraping before treatment to rule out early cervical cancer. Physical treatment methods for cervical erosion include electric ironing, cryotherapy, laser, microwave therapy, etc. Surgery may be considered for those who do not respond to physical therapy and drug treatment. In terms of diet, you should eat less spicy, greasy, raw and cold foods. This disease is equivalent to the category of "leucorrhea" in traditional Chinese medicine. The disease is mainly caused by the accumulation of dampness, which affects the Ren and Dai meridians, resulting in the Dai meridian becoming dysfunctional and the Ren meridian becoming weak, leading to the disease.

1. The phenomenon of vaginal bleeding is manifested as contact bleeding, prolonged menstrual period, shortened cycle, increased menstrual flow, etc. Postmenopausal women will experience irregular vaginal bleeding. This symptom is relatively obvious, which helps people detect cervicitis in time.

2. The vaginal discharge increases and is white or bloody, sometimes thin like water or rice soup, with a fishy smell. In the late stage, due to the rupture of cancerous tissue, tissue necrosis, secondary infection, etc., the patient will have a large amount of purulent or rice soup-like foul-smelling leucorrhea.

3. The leucorrhea is mucous or contains blood, or there is bleeding during sexual intercourse, accompanied by vulvar itching and lumbar pain. Thick and purulent leucorrhea is not conducive to the passage of sperm and can also cause infertility.

4. The early symptoms of acute cervicitis are increased vaginal discharge with purulent content, accompanied by low back pain and lower abdominal discomfort.

5. The early symptoms of chronic cervicitis are excessive leucorrhea, which is white, mucous or contains blood, or bleeding during sexual intercourse, accompanied by vulvar itching, lumbosacral pain, and aggravation during menstruation.

There are few symptoms of mild cervicitis in the early stages, but you can vaguely find problems with leucorrhea. However, many women do not pay attention to abnormal leucorrhea and will not go to the hospital for examination until the disease becomes serious. In fact, the cost of leucorrhea examination is not much. Through this examination, bacteria, viruses, etc. in leucorrhea can be found, and gynecological diseases can be preliminarily diagnosed. The patient can continue to check and accurately determine the type of disease he or she suffers from.
