What kind of body is prone to stretch marks?

Women will have many concerns after becoming pregnant, such as the development of the fetus and the physical condition of the pregnant woman. Some pregnant women will also worry about whether they will get stretch marks in the late pregnancy, because the growth of stretch marks is not fixed. Some women do not get them, while some women will get a lot of them in the late pregnancy, which seriously affects the beauty of the cesarean section. In fact, the growth of stretch marks is related to the physique of the pregnant woman. So what physique is prone to stretch marks? Please follow us to learn more details.

During pregnancy, the secretion of estrogen and androgen is unbalanced, the pigmentation becomes darker and heavier, and this line will become obvious. About 90% of pregnant women will develop stretch marks, which usually begin to appear in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. However, the time when different pregnant women develop stretch marks varies, which is related to their personal physique, age, skin color, and hormone levels. Generally speaking, pregnant women with fair skin who are less likely to get acne and leave scars will have lighter stretch marks; pregnant women with dark skin who are prone to pigmentation and scars from wounds will have darker stretch marks.

Pathological causes:

The occurrence of this disease is closely related to the increased secretion of cortisol by the adrenal cortex. During pregnancy, due to the influence of large amounts of estrogen in the body, the adrenal cortex secretes more hormones. The cortisol secreted by the zona fasciculata increases by 3 times compared to non-pregnant women, and the amount of active free cortisol in the blood also increases. Because cortisol has the function of breaking down elastin, causing its denaturation and inhibiting fibroblasts, the skin becomes fragile due to the denaturation of elastic fibers. In addition, the enlarged uterus causes the elastic fibers in the abdominal wall skin to be overstretched and break, and the enlarged breasts also undergo the same changes, ultimately leading to the appearance of striped stretch marks on the abdomen and breasts. After delivery, the stretch marks will appear over time.

1. Early stage: The elastic fibers in the dermis are broken and become rare, the collagen fibers are separated and homogenized, the blood vessel walls are thickened, the lumen is dilated, and there is edema and mild lymphocyte infiltration around the blood vessels.

2. Late stage: The epidermis atrophies and becomes thinner, the spinous cell layer atrophies, and the epidermal ridges become flattened. The dermis becomes thinner, and straight and thin collagen bundles are seen in the superficial dermis that are arranged parallel to the skin surface. The cell nuclei are sparse, and the hair follicles, sweat glands and sebaceous glands also atrophy.

Causes:

The human abdomen has many layers from the outside to the inside, they are the skin, skin elastic fibers, subcutaneous fat layer, rectus abdominis muscle composed of muscle fiber groups and tendons, preperitoneal fat layer and peritoneum. Under normal circumstances, the elastic fibers of the skin and the rectus abdominis muscle maintain a certain elasticity and can stretch and contract freely within a certain limit. When a woman is pregnant for more than 3 months, the enlarged uterus protrudes from the pelvic cavity and develops into the abdominal cavity. The abdomen begins to swell, and under the influence of the enlarged uterus, the elastic fibers in the skin and the abdominal muscles begin to stretch. This is especially evident after 6 months of pregnancy. When it exceeds a certain limit, the elastic fibers of the skin are broken and the rectus abdominis tendon also separates to varying degrees. As a result, irregular pink or purple longitudinal cracks appear on the skin of the abdomen. After childbirth, although the broken elastic fibers are gradually repaired, it is difficult to restore to their previous state. The original cracks on the skin will gradually fade and finally turn silver-white, which are stretch marks.

During puberty, young boys and girls have their cell division inhibited due to dehydration and the habit of drinking strong tea. The suppressed cell number results in the loss of skin cells in major elongation areas such as the thighs. The skin formed by other types of cells filling the gaps appears inconsistent, and appears to have stretch marks. Stretch marks are also called stretch marks.

What kind of body type is prone to stretch marks? Stretch marks after pregnancy are also a symptom of physical development. They do not harm the skin or the pregnant woman herself. Stretch marks will improve to a certain extent after the pregnancy. However, some women's stretch marks are very serious. At this time, targeted treatment can be used, such as drug treatment. If the treatment effect is not ideal, cosmetic treatment can be performed. Patients can undergo surgical treatment to improve the nature of the skin.
