What are the methods to treat dysmenorrhea?

Many female friends often suffer from dysmenorrhea because they do not pay attention to proper conditioning during their menstrual period. Mild dysmenorrhea can be relieved by simple physical methods such as hot compresses. Sometimes dysmenorrhea can seriously affect women's work and life. At this time, it is best to use medication for treatment. Below, I will introduce some effective treatments for female dysmenorrhea.

There are many ways to treat dysmenorrhea, but women in different situations should use different methods to relieve pain:

1. For women who no longer want to have children, they can take long-acting contraceptives to achieve the purpose of menopause. When taking prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors (PGSI), when the dosage of PGSI is large, serious side effects may sometimes occur clinically, so you should be careful and stop taking the medication if necessary.

2. Acupuncture treatment: When dysmenorrhea occurs, the main acupoints for acupuncture (or moxibustion) are: Qihai, Hegu, Sanyinjiao; the auxiliary acupoints are: Guanyuan, uterus, and Zusanli. First, needle the main acupoints, give strong stimulation, and leave the needles in for 10 to 15 minutes. If the pain persists, add additional acupoints or moxibustion on Qihai and Guanyuan.

3. Progesterone: By supplementing progesterone, the balance with estrogen is restored, and the endometrium can be exfoliated in fragments as normal during menstruation, which can relieve the pain caused by spasmodic contractions of the uterus. Starting from the 21st day of menstruation, intramuscular injection of progesterone 20 mg/day, a total of 5 times

Painkillers only have the effect of relieving pain, but if the cause of dysmenorrhea is not found, it is quite dangerous to blindly use painkillers to treat dysmenorrhea. Although it can temporarily relieve pain, taking painkillers will mask the location and nature of the pain, making it difficult for doctors to observe the condition and determine the affected area, and thus making it difficult for doctors to make a correct diagnosis and provide timely treatment. In addition, taking painkillers may temporarily relieve the patient's pain, but the disease may actually be getting worse.

For female friends who often suffer from dysmenorrhea, they must pay attention to hygiene during menstruation and should be careful about their diet, and try not to eat raw, cold, or irritating foods. You should take adequate rest during menstruation and try not to do strenuous physical exercise to avoid aggravating dysmenorrhea.
