What is the best way to treat congenital dysmenorrhea?

Dysmenorrhea refers to the pain in the lower abdomen or waist during or a few days before and after menstruation. When women have dysmenorrhea, they can put a hot water bag on the lower abdomen to relieve the pain and drink a bowl of brown sugar water. Congenital dysmenorrhea is also called primary dysmenorrhea, which is more common in young women. The main symptoms are radiating pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area after menarche, during menstruation, and the next day. Some people start to feel pain one or two days before menstruation. Some patients also have nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, pale cold sweats, and must stay in bed to feel relief.

1. Maintain a balanced mindset. Eliminate the tension and fear about menstruation, relieve mental worries, and be in a good mood. You can participate in labor and exercise appropriately, but pay attention to rest.

2. Take good care of your menstrual health. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, eat less raw, cold, spicy and other irritating foods before and during menstruation, and pay attention to keeping warm, especially the lower abdomen.

3. Oral contraceptives. For those who require contraception, they can take short-acting oral contraceptives to inhibit ovulation and achieve the effect of pain relief. Women with primary dysmenorrhea have increased uterine activity. Oral contraceptives can inhibit uterine activity by lowering the levels of prostaglandins, vasopressin and oxytocin in the blood.

4. Take prostaglandin synthase inhibitors. It can be used by those who do not require contraception. After taking it, uterine tension and contractility decrease, and certain related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, etc. are alleviated.

5. Take vitamins. Vitamin E can promote the development and maturation of reproductive organs. It is suitable for adolescent patients with primary dysmenorrhea. Giving 100 mg of vitamin E daily for 20 consecutive days per month can relieve dysmenorrhea. Vitamin B can promote the permeation of magnesium ions through cell membranes, increase the concentration of magnesium ions in cells, inhibit the contraction of uterine smooth muscles, and relieve dysmenorrhea. Giving 200 mg of vitamin B daily can produce a significant increase in magnesium ions in red blood cells after 4 weeks. Dysmenorrhea can be relieved or alleviated after 4 to 6 weeks of treatment.

Therefore, congenital dysmenorrhea can be effectively treated clinically as long as good menstrual care is taken. Avoid eating too spicy or cold food, and drink more boiled water. It can relieve dysmenorrhea during menstruation. After menstruation, eat more red dates, lotus seeds and black chicken to replenish your body. It can prevent the symptoms of anemia and physical weakness.
