What is the disease that makes girls often faint?

Fainting is a sudden, short-term loss of consciousness caused by temporary ischemia of the brain due to various reasons, which is called "syncope" in medicine. Ordinary people may faint under special circumstances. It is a physiological phenomenon. But if a person often faints or an elderly person has experienced fainting, it may be physiological fainting. So, what disease causes girls to faint frequently?

1. Cardiac syncope

It refers to fainting caused by a sudden decrease or cessation of cardiac output due to heart disease, which is mostly caused by arrhythmia and organic heart disease. Common arrhythmias include distorted sinus syndrome, atrioventricular block and other bradycardia or arrest, and tachycardia arrhythmias such as ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, which cause a decrease in preload and lead to fainting. Organic heart diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction, cardiac myxoma, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, congenital cyanotic heart disease, etc. can all cause fainting. Cardiogenic syncope is more common in the elderly, lasts for a long time, and is a serious condition. The elderly with heart disease should communicate with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease specialists for treatment, and use pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators when necessary.

2. Vasovagal syncope

This type is more common and occurs more frequently in young people. Usually, there are fixed causes of illness, such as urination, cough, pain, anxiety, fear, hot weather, excessive exercise, and fasting. Sometimes there are no symptoms before the onset of syncope, and it will recover quickly without complications. Sometimes there will be a decrease in blood pressure and/or heart rate. This type of syncope can usually be cured by special exercises under the guidance of a doctor. Very few people need to be treated with drugs or pacemakers.

3. Hypotensive syncope during standing position

It is common in the elderly or those who are bedridden for a long time. The main symptoms are blacking of the eyes and fainting after a sudden change in posture. The preventive measures are to stand up slowly or with support, and not to squat for a long time.

4. Cerebral syncope

It is caused by circulatory obstruction in the brain blood vessels or the blood vessels that mainly supply blood to the head, resulting in a temporary lack of blood supply to the brain. It is common in the elderly, and common causes include transient cerebral ischemia, spinal syncope, and large arteritis. Preventive measures include avoiding cardiovascular and cerebrovascular arteriosclerosis, reducing cerebral vasospasm, taking medication regularly, and regular follow-up visits.

In summary, there are many causes of fainting, vasovagal syncope is the most common, and cardiac syncope is the most dangerous. When the disease occurs, the person who has fainted should be placed in a supine position or with the lower limbs pulled up to increase the blood volume of the brain. Loosen your collar and turn your head to one side. Send the patient to the hospital immediately, and choose to do electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound, head CT, blood sugar level, tilt test and other examinations according to different situations. After the cause of the disease is determined, prevent recurrence under the guidance of a doctor.
